Tower from North
Hi all !
We´ll be visiting Blackpool from 03-02-06 to 06-02-06.
As we are arriving early at Manchester Airport (7:30am)check-in at the hotel is from 4:00pm, we´re looking for some interesting places to visit or things to do in between. We´re thinking about taking a car for the 4 days.
Has anyone some tipps ?

Blackpool is a bit grim in February, but if you are hiring a car there are lots of places nearby, for scenery try the Trough of Bowland or the Lake District, or cross over to the Isle of Man by ferry from Fleetwood
Agreed with Bernishad's comments and advise.
The ferry from Fleetwood is summer only. Can I ask why Blackpool in the winter? I like it in the summer but the winter sees it virtually closed down. As everyone says though there are places of interest nearby.
I have been to Blackpool a couple of weeks ago and I have been there a couple of times in past summers. True, the weather this time was pretty cold, grey and raniy, but so it was in summer. And still, I find Blackpool a most colorful place, typical British kitsch and lots to do, especially for continental Europeans. Accomodation is also cheaper than in other nearby places such as Preston, Liverpool or Manchester, all within less than an hour's drive for daytrips (also good rail connections). Last but not least, the locals are a friendly lot and easy to get on.
I take it you're going for the Line Dancing,I think the Tower will be open,which is worth a visit. Unfortunately most things are seasonal in this area. Berni has mentioned the beauty spots to visit,weather permitting.

If you are traveling by car,then why not stop off at the Trafford Centre it's just off the M60 ring road round Manchester,which is on the way.You will be able to shop and there are loads of places to eat.

To go to the Trafford Center to do some shopping sounds like a gooood idea...as we are travelling without our husbands :o))

A coat is an absolute necessity whatever time of year you're in Blackpool. The weather is very unpredictable and if it is nice, chances are it'll only last a couple of days. It's not the Med :) A coat will not only keep you warm if the worst happens, but will also prevent you from instantly standing out as a holidaymaker (which, sadly and as far as some are concerned, is equivalent to wearing a neon sign on your head saying "Fleece Me").
