More about Norwood Hotel

At last - found Hotel will definitely return to

by TripAdvisor Member Belfastlass

Having holidayed in Blackpool for our annual holiday (one week) for the past three years and staying in different hotels, we have now finally found the hotel that we will definitely be returning to next year. Our party consisted of 2 senior citizens, 2 adults and 3 children ranging in age from 4 to 10 years and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the hotel. The hotel is close to all main attractions (suitable for older guests in our party) but not too close to bars/nightclubs etc to disturb the younger ones as we were there over the weekend when there tends to be a lot of hen and stag parties about the town (Thankfully the hotel does not accept hen/stag parties - only couples and families). The hotel was spotlessly clean, there is an area in the lounge set out for the children with teddy bears picnic and games, rooms are good (tea & coffee facilties supplied (tea, milk, biscuits etc) and the hosts, Lorraine and Geoff are excellent - nothing is too much trouble for them. The food was excellent and plentiful, we stayed for B&B&EM and everyone really enjoyed all the meals (this is a great compliment to Lorraine, as we had a couple of fussy-eaters in our party and the hotel we stayed in last year, the evening meals were not the best and we ended up having to eat out a few of the nights). We were also with another family who had booked into another hotel (bit more expensive) who after the first couple of days were sorry that they had not booked into the Norwood with us as their hotel was not as good as they had thought it would have been. We will definitely be back to visit Lorraine and Geoff next year for our annual August holiday and hopefully also before then and the other family want to join us as well after they had listened to us all week telling them what a great time we had, which was of course down to Lorraine and Geoff excellent hospitality.

Lorraine and Geoff run a very friendly and welcoming hotel with on suite facilities in all rooms. This lovely Hotel is just located up the road from Coral Island and is in perfect position for all local amenities.

Including Tower and Central Pier.

This is an ideal place for families and couples of all ages to get away and enjoy this friendly atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of single female/male parties.

Would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone why not try it yourself and see what we mean.

Great Place To Stay

by A TripAdvisor Member

I recently stayed at the Norwood and I was very impressed. Apart from its superb location, the room was immaculate, the breakfast delicious and the hosts are both friendly and genuinely nice people. Their knowledge of what to see in Blackpool was also very useful. I highly recommend a stay at the Norwood Hotel.

A wonderful find

by TripAdvisor Member Beezlebubsinge

I have just returned today from a two day break in Blackpool, the Norwood Hotel was a real find for us. Easy to locate and very central for the Tower/Winter Gardens etc and plenty of car parks close by. Geoff and Lorraine ( and Oliver! ) were extremely hospitable and the breakfast was excellent - cooked to perfection. There were very thoughtful extras such as hairdryers in the rooms and internet access downstairs. I have no hesitation in recommending this warm and welcoming hotel to anyone visiting Blackpool - we hope to return soon.

What a fantastic place to stay as a family!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed in the Norwood Hotel with our young family over bonfire night. What a really lovely place, the atmosphere is peaceful, and inviting. Geoff and Lorraine are so genuinely friendly, and are keen to help you have the best visit possible, whether it's to do with your stay, or information on the area and attractions. We stayed in a family room, as a family of five, and found it perfect for us. The hotel is kept spotless, we were so impressed on the cleanliness, the children even noticed how clean the hotel was kept. We felt there was a mutual respect amongst all the guest, everyone considered each other, and it was just so quiet, which is down to Geoff and Lorraine, (and of course Oliver who can't be forgotten!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definately be returning, i would recommend the Norwood to anyone. Thankyou for a really pleasant stay. The Davies Gang!!

Cozy and Wonderful

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife and I recently stayed several nights at the Norwood Hotel. Overall, the experience was wonderful and we can certainly see why the Norwood enjoys a top rating as amongst hotel properties in Blackpool.

In my opinion, what really "made" the stay was the delightful and accommodating demeanor of the proprietors, Geoff and Lorraine. They bent over backwards to assist us at every turn and it was their warmth and hospitality that would encourage us to book at the Norwood again in future.

Geoff and Lorraine provided us with Internet access, assisted us in making phone calls, and when an unusual situation arose in which we left the hotel for two nights to stay with relatives, were most accommodating in allowing us to "split" our stay at the Norwood without penalty. (Nota Bene: Geoff and Lorraine went out of their way to be helpful in this regard, and we realize that this probably would not have been possible in the height of the tourist season.)

The breakfasts were delicious, filling and plentiful, and we were able to choose between a light breakfast of cereal, yogurt, juice and toast, or their wonderful "full English." We understand that, at certain times of the year, the Norwood also offers an evening meal (as well as special holiday packages), but we stayed at the Norwood during the off-season, during which time the evening meal is not on offer.

While we were at the Norwood, no request for assistance was refused, and Geoff and Lorraine cheerfully made our honeymoon holiday a wonderful one to remember.

We would most certainly stay at the Norwood again, and would heartily recommend it to other holidaymakers.

Christmas at Norwood

by A TripAdvisor Member

We are just home from a lovely 4 day excursion to the Norwood for their special Christmas break offer. Arriving on Christmas eve to a warm welcome from Geoff and Lorraine. After an evening of entertainment and supper we woke on Christmas morning to a bucks fizz breakfast with Christmas dinner to follow later on in the day. The accomodation is clean and well presented throughout with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. The trip included breakfast, dinner and supper in between the entertainment. Fancy doing something different next Christmas, then go to the Norwood you will not be disappointed. Anne and Sam (Belfast)
