Funny Girls is a quality cabaret featuring transvestites (drag artists). There is great music, dance routines and burlesque comedy. DJ Zoe also plays requests between the sections of the shows (be warned, if you request, she may well pick you out and embaress you with her witty one liners!).
All the waitresses and the bar staff are transvestites. The venue itself is a theatre, and the night shows are extremely popular. A lot of hen nights start off at Funny Girls! The show is fun and tongue in cheek, and some of the ladies really will have you fooled! Entrance into Funny Girls is not too expensive (£3 weekdays, £6 saturday nights), if you choose to go into the main part of the theatre and stand up to watch the show. It is more expensive to sit in the balcony seats, but the view is good, and the bar is quieter than below and you get waitress service.
You can also book to have a meal in the restaurant (Garbos, cost £14 extra) just before the show.
Would recommend booking if you plan to go on a weekend, particularly if it is during Sept to Oct (when the promenade lights are switched on).
