Chester again...
We really loved wandering around the streets in Chester. There are heaps of cute little shops and we did a lot of window shopping there.
Because it was mid November the streets were covered in Christmas decorations too... :)

What is the best way to get to the Liverpool Airport for a Sunday morning flight? I was thinking of taking a train from Southport to Hunts Cross, but would there be a bus service at 9 am from Hunts Cross to the airport? Or is there a better way to get there? Thanks a bunch.
I understand that there are Bus Link services from Garston and Hunts Cross stations to Liverpool Airport. Some appear to start around 9am others not till after 10am on Sundays. Have you tried using the www.traveline.org.uk website and putting your origin and destination details in there?
If no buses at your required time then Hunts Cross station is only two and half miles from the airport so a local taxi should not cost too much.
Alternatively, MD Travel run airport transfers (taxi) from Southport to Liverpool Airport. Not sure what a one way journey would be but when I used them last year cost to drop off and collect a family was £55.
I haven't used that website yet. Thanks a bunch!
From tomorrow (11.6.06) Merseytravel open their new multi-million pound Liverpool South Parkway station. This replaces Allerton and Garston stations. I understand it will have a direct bus link (the 86A) offered by Arriva to Liverpool Airport. In the past we have got the train to Central and picked up the 500 airport bus as it comes every 30 minutes.
I did not know of the new station. Thanks for the tip!

No problem. Tried it out last weekend as off to Oslo shortly. It's really good. The bus only takes about 10 minutes from the rail station to airport.

Liverpool FC is one of the most successful clubs in the English football history. They have won 5 European Cups, 18 English League titles and several FA Cups and League Cups. Liverpool was founded in 1892 and has been playing at Anfield since.
I watched the game in the English Premier League between Liverpool and Everton on March 30, 2008 and Liverpool won the derby 1-0 by a Torres goal in the first half. For me the result was not so important, but to experience the atmosphere inside the stadium was fantastic. The hair on my arms raised when the Liverpool supporters were singing ‘You'll Never Walk Alone” – and I’m not even a Liverpool supporter…
Even if there is no game, Anfield is still worth a visit… The stadium was built in 1884 and was originally the home of Everton FC until 1892, when they left after a rent dispute. Since then the stadium has been home to Liverpool FC, who were formed as a result of Everton leaving Anfield. The capacity is 45400 seats.
You can take a tour of the stadium and visit the museum, the dressing rooms, the Kop and the Club Store with a lot of official Liverpool FC merchandise. There are no tours on match days.
Visit The Teapot Museum and Shop in Conwy. They have a collection of antique, funny and novelty teapots spanning three centuries. They cover the period from the mid-eighteenth century to today. The adjoining shop has a large selection of teapots and Twinings tea and herbal teas for sale.
Fire Code? Man I have never seen so many hard core drinkers and people crammed into a pub, bar or whatever to drink. One of the places where the women pee with the men because getting a female stall is out of the question.
Merseytravel co-ordinates public transport and acts in partnership with private bus and rail operators to provide public transport in Merseyside.
Their website is a good place to look for planning your itinerary around Liverpool.
Thay also offer various day tickets for bus and train which can work out economical if travelling a lot around the area.
