I stayed in Campanile for two nights with three friends in December 2006 and it was a pleasant stay. Hotel was situated 5 minutes walk from the city centre, near new museum area of Liverpool. We had a nice view to the river from our room. I would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again. Even bathroom was really modern!
I could of course fall into the trap of mentioning that the most important feature about a hotel in Liverpool is secure parking - if you don't want your motor to end up on bricks.
I won't do that - but the secuity gates were impressive.
Standard rooms, clean and simple but with good views over the docks and a substantial (very non-Gallic) breakfast to boot.
Excellent location only a few mins from the Albert dock one way and Chinatown the other.
I also like the fact the corridors had several pictures of Liverpool in past years dotted around.
