Car parking near the Liver Building?

by henry14

I'm shortly starting work in the vicinity of the Liver Building. On short visits I've parked on the Albert Dock, but on a daily basis this is going to get expensive. Any recommendations for parking in this area? I'll be driving in from the direction of M58/A5036.

Thanks.

yeah sure,

there ius much cheaper car parking. There is a car park jus near Garlands night club. Its on gravel and not enclosed, but a guy is there all day so safe. Its only £7 per day.

Good luck

Travel Tips for Liverpool

The Beatles

by steventilly

To many people Liverpool's most famous claim to fame is as the home of The Beatles. I've never been a big Beatles fan (well I'm waayy too young to even remember them properly) but I know many of you out there are, so....

The Cavern Club, where The Beatles started out stands on Mathew Street. The original club has been demolished, but the building that stands in its place 'Cavern Walks' contains a replica of the club in its basement. Also on Mathew Street is a bronze sculpture 'Four Lads Who Shook The World'.

Nearby on Stanley Street is the statue 'Eleanor Rigby', which sits on a bench. It was placed here in 1982.

There is various other stuff scattered around the city too (see elsewhere in these tips)

The rivalry between Liverpool...

by sandysmith

The rivalry between Liverpool and Everton football supporters is legend but is usually good humoured. As a Liverpool supporter the sight of a display of Everton shirts in a 'Help the Aged' charity shop appealed greatly to my sense of humour!

Shrewsbury Castle is made of...

by margaretvn

Shrewsbury Castle is made of sandstone and it was the centre of Norman and medieval power in the region. It last saw action in the Civil War and was 'restored' by Thomas Telford in the 18th century. It was then that the romantic 'Laura's Tower' was built. The castle buildings were closed when we were there but thhe grounds are open and free and offer lovely views over the town and surrounding countryside.

Problems at Liverpool Airport with online check-in

by henry14

Online check-in is becoming more popular at Liverpool airport, with passengers encouraged to do so by the low cost carriers e.g. Ryanair. However, be aware that there can be problems with the scanners the security area use to scan the boarding pass you print for yourself at home. We arrived in good time, queued at security for a lengthy time and then were turned away because the scanner couldnt read the bar code on our pass. We had to run back to check-in but the gate had closed, so had to find the customer service desk to get a printed card. We only caught our flight by seconds and because the pilot allowed us to board. The airport have confirmed this happens regularly depending on the printer or paper used. So although checking in online should allow you to arrive at the airport later, still allow as much time as if you are checking in.
