There's a couple of ferrys from Dublin to Liverpool. http://www.directferries.co.uk/dublin_liverpool_ferry.htm
Takes 8 hours, odd, I took this ferry a few years ago and I'm sure it was no more than 5. Maybe they've stopped the quick service.

P&O offer a day sailing offers from 30 euros with the return ferry leaving at 10pm so not bad for a few post match drinks.

by yooperprof

Liverpool's latest attraction - a radically modern new structure for the new millennium and the new Liverpool. The new city of Liverpool history museum will open in 2010. The building is designed by the Danish firm of 3XN - originally made up of three Nielsens. They also designed the new Deutsche Bahn HQ in Berlin and the Musiekgebouw in Amsterdam.

Free Museums!

by sandysmith

The museums in Liverpool are free!! The Liverpool Museum is not much to rave over but the Merseyside Maritime museum in the Albert Dock complex is well worth a few hours of you time. It offers a unique insight into the history of the great port of Liverpool - covers the wars, emigration, slavery and Titanic and Lusitania exhibitions to name a few. Outside there are various exhibits such as the propellor from the Lusitaina and also the piermaster's house can be visited free of charge.

If you have time on your hands the the Tate Gallery for modern art is also in the Albert Dock complex- note its closed on Mondays and Bank Holidays. Entrance again is free but there is a charge for the specialist exhibitions on the second floor.

Besides just thinking of being out on the p i s s, another way of appreciating Liverpool is by walking around looking at the awesome architecture litted at night. This is St. George's Hall looking very grand and virtually stunning.
