the best accommodation in Liverpool if you come "F

    by

Stayed at this hotel in 2009 for visiting Liverpool's Mathew Street festival.

First of all I'd like to note the perfect location, if you are explorering places related to the Beatles. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Mersey river right next to the Albert dock (3 min walk)
    http://www.albertdock.com/,
Here is the information center, where you can take the map and order excursions,
    museum "Beatlesstory"
    http://www.beatlesstory.com/,
and an excellent gift shop (not only one). The tour on the "Yellow Submarine" starts here, sort of amphibious car.
Next to the hotel and the Albert dock also starts another excursion - "Magical Mystery Tour" on the bus painted , as in the eponymous film.
    http://www.beatlestour.org/
Needless to say, how many places, dear to the heart of every beatleman, can be seen during this excursion, but the truth is, most of them from the bus window. In addition, bus makes a stops at the gates of homes of John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison (former homes, of course) where you can take your pictures. Concerning houses, here is more interesting version of the excursions, but a bit later about that... Excursion ends near the club "Cavern", admission ticket is included in the excursion. In-general, "Magical Mystery Tour" a good start to explore Liverpool and to estimate distances. You can buy it in the info center, but also in Internet.

There is a pier in 20 minutes walking , where you can take the ferry and enjoy viewing the city from the water.
    http://www.merseyferries.co.uk/Content/Commuters/CommuterTimetable.aspx
There is also another exhibition center, which is held every year some thematic exhibition. (In 2009 there was an exhibition by Julian Lennon, dedicated to his father).

Approximately in the same distance there is a Matthew Street, where the music festival of tribute bands is starting at the end of August on each year.
    http://beatlesfestival.co.uk/
and, of course, the club, "Cavern".
    http://www.cavernclub.org/

    Also about the location :
If you want to visit the former houses of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, this can be done by purchasing excursions at National Trust over the Internet.
    http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-the_beatles
Convenience is that the place of meeting with the guide is on the first floor in the cafe Barista of Jurys Inn.

The only thing is quite far - railway station Lime Street, if you arrive by train from London. But this distance can be overcome by everyone easily
    http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/891.aspx

Rooms are large, bright and well equipped. There is a safe also. Ironing facilities on request.
In storage room you'll been given tags for your luggage, identifying it. In the lobby there is a free Wi-fi for hotel guests, speed is good.
Breakfast is very good at this hotel, great selection of classic cuts of cheese, meat, vegetables and fruit, if I remember right, there were even cereal, omelets and boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, yogurts. However, it seems you can book room without breakfast. In 15 minutes on foot there is a supermarket, and there is a kettle in the room (I love Britain-!:)
However, it should be remembered that in the UK an electric
socket is different from european , and you should have an adapter.
But it seems that in many hotels an adapter can be taken on reception.
In addition, there is pizzeria nearby hotel, and it seems she is working till late.

In-general, Jurys Inn hotel is a good quality, but not cheap choice.

    Cool Location

    by

I recently stayed here when I took my son to watch a show at Liverpool Echo arena. I chose the hotel because of its location to the arena, which was right next door. The hotel opened it doors in April 2008 and so feels modern, airy and above all comfortable enhanced by the friendliness of the staff. My room (540) was superb and was situated on the 5TH floor overlooking the fabulous Albert dock and the Majestic Liver Buidling in the background.
There is an abundance of eateries and shops close by with Pizza Express being located just outside the main foyer.

Unique Quality: For me the people and location makes this place a winner and I will be back again the next time I'm in Liverpool regardless of the reason for my visit.

Very Bad Service

by TripAdvisor Member globetrotter086

On arrival the hotel looked good from the outside.
When we got to our room we had one double bed for the adults and a single for the two kids and one towel for four people. We rang the reception and the said they presumed the bed was for two small children. We didn't get a room change.
The next day we went for breakfast which was fine with a good choice.
We went out and when we came back are keys were deactivated and we had to wait 20-30 mins to activate it again. By the time we got up to our room we realized the bed wasn't made and the cleaner hadn't come in.
We went down to ask what happened. The response was that it shouldn't have happened. We waited in the bar for a 1/2 hour and when we went up they left a bag of tea, coffee, sugars and two towels (which is an improvement). But still did not make beds, hover etc.

I definitely would not return to the hotel.

Stay at Home

by TripAdvisor Member janiel

Stayed here over the week end with my Husband and 2 children. Age 9 and 14. Thought we were on "candid camera". Unfriendly staff, who thanked you for bringing any and all problems to their attention, but did nothing about it. I could go on and on but to give you the short version, unmade beds, room not cleaned for 2nd nights stay, My advise is that JURYS should stick with their "Jurys Hotels" and forget their "Ryan Airlines Inn",
oh I mean "Jurys Inn."

Excellent all-rounder

by TripAdvisor Member toxKent

We booked this hotel for one night in May, direct on the Jury's Inn website, for a remarkable £59 (room only).

Whilst the hotel doesn't have it's own dedicated car park, they have an arrangement with the Convention Centre nearby. Hotel guests can park (for 24 hours) in their multi-storey for £5 - perfect if you want to go shopping/sightseeing the morning after your hotel stay.

As it's a brand new hotel, the Sat Nav wouldn't recognise the hotel or the multi-storey car park's postcodes. However, the hotel's website has precise and clear directions to both, should you require them.

We were stunned by the hotel's exterior and location upon arrival, but equally as impressed by the atrium, restaurant and bar areas. We were checked in by a sweet Irish lady, and our room preferences (high-floor, away from elevator in a quiet area of the hotel) were all actioned.

The room was reasonably sized, spotlessly clean and very homely - the flat screen TV was nice, the bed was very comfortable and we had views to die for.

We gave the restaurant a try that night - the Supervisor was very friendly and even went through the menu with us. Our food was swifly prepared and of very good quality.

After a very peaceful night, we checked out and walked round Liverpool to do some sightseeing. We held out on lunch, as we both really wanted to go back to the hotel restaurant to eat. Again, we weren't let down - swiftly prepared, good quality and reasonably priced food.

Would we stay here again? Without a shadow of a doubt! In fact, we're going to hunt out Jury's Inn hotels over the Holiday Inn brand in future.

Smart and well located

by TripAdvisor Member arnos.grove

Stayed for a night recently on a trip to the nearby Klimt exhibition. The hotel was situated right next door to the convention centre car park (a fiver for 24 hours in what seemed a very safe car park) and certainly looked very swish on arrival.

Check-in was simple and effective and the room, despite being compact, was nicely turned out and sported some potent air-conditioning (great for me, but you can always turn it down or off). Spotless bathroom and a pounding shower as well.

We found all the staff very friendly and helpful - for example, I bought a new pair of headphones for my ipod, but couldn't get the box open as it was made of some sort of iron-strength plastic. Despite being very busy checking in conference guests, a receptionist went off to locate some scissors and spent a good few minutes hacking the box to bits for me.

In the bar, a young lad was clearly making his debut on the cappuccino machine, but cheerfully admitted his struggle and eventually turned up with a quality cup.

I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel in the future. I would also recommend the nearby Gusto restaurant in Albert Docks - fine service and food. If you don't want to walk more than 10 paces from the lobby a Pizza Express was about to open on the 14th June - looked quite nice.

good hotel

by TripAdvisor Member iomgirly

I stayed at the Jurys for 2 nights in June. I unfortunately did not get the cheap rate and our room was £99 per night room only.

The hotel is clean and well presented and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast at £9.95 is quite expensive but was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts ive had.

The hotel itself if very well situated - a pizza express is right on the doorstep and the docs are 1 minutes walk away. Liverpool 1 and the high street are a few minutes leisurly walk from the hotel.

Down sides were upon entering our hotel room we were unable to access the bathroom as the door appeared to be locked from the outside. Someone was sent straight away to fix this but the door still caught and could not be opened from the inside - we just didnt latch the door for the 2 days we were there.

The first morning our hotel room was not serviced before we left at half 11 (which is fine with me) but then the next morning they tried to service our room at 8:30! we were due to check out at 12 so common sense would have thought to service after this.

Overall this is a nice hotel which is worth considering.

Does a job

by TripAdvisor Member chewyryan

Stayed here for one night when attending a conference in facility next door. Overall the hotel was good, very nice room, very clean and nice to have a duvet rather than blankets.

Improvement opportunities for the hotel... External signage needed as when I left the NCP car park I couldn't find it!!!

Bar staff were a bit rude, obviously not paying atention and more interested in chatting to each other.

Excellant, Loved it

Went to see Westlife on June 30th at the Echo Arena as we didnt want stay too far we booked jurys inn which is right opposite the arena entrance,

When we got there it looked wow from the outside but going inside it was evener wower, we booked in with no problems what so ever, not far form albert dock and if you need a cheap cafe if you dont want eat in restaurant i recommend Hansel and Gretels cafe on the docks..

When we got back to the room to relax before the concert, i rang down reception to ask about a iron and ironing board and within 10 minutes someone brought it up to our room.. Service was excellant and couldnt fault it... didnt eat at the hotel so cant comment but the breakfast did smell nice lol,

they booked us a taxi back to liverpool lime street station, we going back soon and taking the folks away for weekend and staying at one place THE JURYS INN

Excellant room - spacious and flat screen tv but bed was so comfy...

no faults at all

Brilliant Jurys

by TripAdvisor Member AnnaScotland

We booked this hotel for its close proximity to Liverpool Echo Arena where we had booked for a concert. We were delighted with everything about our visit, the location was spot on, only a 1 minute walk to the Arena, a discounted car park immediately behind so only another 1 minute walk from there to the hotel and only costing £5 for a 24hour stay. We were right beside the Albert Dock with all it's lovely shops and restaurants and a 5 minute walk from Liverpool 1, the city centre with an upgraded shopping centre due to open in September 2008. The hotel itself is lovely, helpful friendly reception staff, fast efficient lifts, rooms were excellent, while on the small side, had everything we needed like comfy bed, flat screen TV, clean bathroom with good shower etc. The bar area was great and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Could find not one thing to complain about here and already planning a return visit.

Loved it!! Great Hotel!
