LFC to John Lennon Airport

by amofeeney

Hi folks..dubliner here. Am bringing my boyf this sat the 6th to anfield for the LFC V arsenal game. kick off is 5.15pm (Damn BBC). My question is...the last flight out of liverpool that night is 20.25pm (check in 40 mins before) what, realistically, are my chances of making this flight without having to leave match early? if yu don't think its possible can you please advise on alternatives? cant get any quote for foot passengers on ferries out!!
....also we are gonna stay in the parkvale Guesthouse on the night of the 5th..any insights?
Cheers scousers!

Travel Tips for Liverpool

Ferry across the Mersey...

by CandS

Take a ferry ride over the Mersey River. While we were on the ferry they even played the song "Ferry Across the Mersey"...haha...I'm sure they play that on every trip though... ;)

It is fairly cheap and gives you another view of the city. The three buildings at the dock are really beautiful.

Scouse

by hamouras

You might be wondering what language do they speak in Liverpool. Nop, it's not a variation of German or Dutch. It's not Welsh either. It's English! You may ask then: 'How come i don't understand a word?' Well, i used to live here for 2 years and still i couldn't understand a lot of scousers. It's probable the most difficult accent of English.

Shrewsbury's specialist shops...

by margaretvn

Shrewsbury's specialist shops are set in medieval streets and this sets the town apart from the usual run of the mill high street shops. The Victorian Arcade and The Parade Shopping Centre have been sensitively converted from historic buildings and they house fascinating little shops for wandering around. The St. Julian's Craft Centre in a 12th century church has a range of local handmade products. There is also the Pride Hill and the Darwin Shopping Centres all together making Shrewsbury a fun place to shop.

You may find the Phil is quite Phull..

by sourbugger about The Philarmonic

Th 'Phil' as I believe it is usually known is one of the great historic pubs of Liverpool.

Wood pannelling, mirrors, marble and various art deco creations abound everywhere.

I would say (in my considered opinion) that the gents toilets rank as the highlight of any visit. Don't be shy girls - just explain you're only coming in for a quick look, to look at some magnifcent specimens !

John Lennon also commented that the price of fame was not being able to go to the Phil.

The place can get very packed at times.

The Liverpool Duck is a bus that can float it will take you round the city then plunge into the dock for a sight seeing tour then back on dry land so you can alight & visit the Albert dock
