Hi.
I will be in southport for the weekend and would like to spend the Saturday in Liverpool. Can anyone tell me the best way by public transport from Southport to Liverpool City Centre and back again?
Hunts Cross bound train from Southport - every 15 minutes - get off at Moorfields or Central once the train stops in Liverpool.
Hi!!! i live in liverpool and travel round quite alot... Get the 300 bus from southport station (by woolworths) and it stops exactly in the centre of liverpool , and do the same to get back. Hope this helps LilK xXx
The Cunard Building was the home to the Cunard Shipping line, though these days they have moved out to Southampton and the building is now occupied by Prudential Insurance (putting them next door to their rival Royal Liver). Many famous shipping lines had their home in Liverpool in those days (the early 1900's) including the ill fated White Star Line, of Titanic fame.
Runcorn Ski Centre consists of two slopes, a 90 metre one and a smaller nursery slope.
Button lifts operate on both slopes and there is great emphasis on safety.
The instructors are available for private or group lessons and are friendly and helpful, they also speak English!
Unfortunately the Apres Ski is cola and Mars Bars. All equipment is supplied as part of the charge (see their site for details), but I do recommend that you wear a pair of strong gloves as the plastic matting is somewhat less forgiving than snow.
Visit Criccieth Castle.
This castle was built about 1230 by the Welsh Prince Llywelyn the Great and it stands on a rocky peninsula overlooking the little seaside resort giving lovely views over Tremadog Bay. The twin-towered gatehouse is one of the castles most splendid features. The castle was captured by Owain Glyndwr in 1404, burnt and sacked and it never rose again. In the castle there are two exhibitions - one an the castles of native Welsh princes and another on Gerald of Wales and the Welsh Princes.

When travelling from the Midlands take the M6 North and leave at junction 21A first sliproad onto the M62, from there follow the motorway to the end and then follow the signposts to your destination.
