The Derby Lodge in Liverpool with the restaurant Henrys Table is a really beautiful building in an even more beautiful environemnt. The surroundings and view from the restaurant Henrys Table is just great.
The food is quite general British grilled meat, good and satisfying, but not with that extra touch. But for the atmosphere on the place, it's worth a visit.
Food was good British standard with the usual selection of steaks and seasonal meals.
Used to go there a lot as it's just around the corner from us but recently it has been very rowdy at a weekend evening with kids running around shouting in the bar area till late at night. Gangs of kids also playing football on the lawn at the back which used to be a good place to have a relaxing after meal drink in the summer.
You used to be able to place your order at the table but now you have to queue up at the bar which is a time-consuming task when all you want to do is to sit down and have a chinwag with a drink whilst waiting for your meal. To pay you also have to queue up at the bar. It seems that now the customer has to do the running whilst the reduced number of staff are run off their feet. Steak
