International Inn - a nice hostel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 12, 2008

The International Inn is a conveniently located youth hostel 15 minutes away from the centre. The building was a warehouse years ago and is now sort of trying to conserve at least parts of this atmosphere - long hallways, many steep stairs and the like.
Nevertheless, the rooms are nice and clean. There's breakfast for free - consisting of toast, jam or marmelade and tea. A TV lounge is also open to the visitors. Next door, an Internet Cafe allows you to check your mails for 1 Pound for 15 minutes.
A definite plus is its location: In 1 minute, you reach Liverpool's most famous pub "The Philharmonic", in 5 minutes you're at the Metropolitan Cathedral, in 10 minutes at the Liverpool Cathedral and in 15 minutes in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the shopping streets of Liverpool.

Unique Quality: As mentioned above: the location!

Directions: South Hunter Street branches off of Hardman Street. Bus No 86A and 80A take you to Hardman Street from the airport within 35 minutes or so.

Great Place to be

I had a great stay. I only planned to be in Liverpool for 1 night but ended up staying for 3 the was more to see than I thought. The staff were soo friendly, they helped me get to the beatle site andd to pick a tour. Plus they knew about the art and stuff that was going on. The other girls in my room were fun - we ended up going out for beers - Mathew St is crazy at the weekends.

The hostel has all the usual things, kitchen, tv room, pool table and all the rooms have bathrooms (wonderful at 3am - no long cold coridors!).

Unique Quality: Relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff

Directions: City centre, near the student area
