I stayed here for a night because the average cost of a bed in Liverpool was at least GBP35, whilst I paid only GBP 19, including contential breatfast.
Travelodge is a chain of hotels in Britain which are not very fancy but not too basic either. The one in Liverpool Central (there's two other ones) has a great location right in the city centre (2 minute walk to the tourist information and to the central bus station). And you can get good deals here as well if you book early. We paid 25 pound for a double room with ensuite bathroom, telly and a bed. What more do you need?
There's no restaurant or hotel bar. Just a reception and a few vending machines. The reception looks a bit like a fancy hostel rather than a hotel but that's perfectly ok if you ask me.
There's a car park opposite but you have to pay when parking here. What we did was to park our rental car a bit outside the centre (at Aigburth Road - the road leading to the airport) and take the bus into town from there.
