Cheap and cheerful

Stayed here for 1 night Friday August 25th.
In town for the Liverpool match and were delighted to get a family room via Superbreak even though the hotel website only had ordinary rooms.
Room was ok - family room with double bed, sofa bed with pull out bed underneath sofa bed. Grout to shower tiling was black in places which put me off. Minimal toiletries ( 1 bar of soap) !
Did have tea / coffee in the room though.
TV was annoying though - text seemed to be preset to 888 for subtitles.
Hotel is in a good central location - 5 min walk from Lime St and close to shopping area.
Had brekkie in nearby pub / cafe (River's Edge ??). Very nice.
Overall, would be ok for short stay just for somewhere to sleep but I wouldn't be bringing the missus there !
Maybe the nearby Marriott may be better but probably more expensive - looks nice though.
love the city...loved the hotel

myself and my partner stayed here on 11 september, 2006. I booked it through the hotel website and got a saver room whch was only £26, that was one of the reasons i chose this place, a hotel bang in the centre of liverpool for £26, i wasn't gonna turn that down!!!
We checked in around 3.30pm, no problems, took about 2 minutes! we got the lift (operated y your room keycard - genius!) to the 2nd floor. Our room was great and had the comfiest bed ever, it's a shame we were only staying the one night!!
It is a stones throw from all the city centre action and so next time we explore this great city we will definately be staying here!!
For the money its fine

If you want to stay in the centre of liverpool its fine, clean, staff were ok no problems. Car parking is a pain, its free from 7.30 pm to 7.30 am so you have to get up for 7.30 and put a £5 in the machine and that covers you untill the following morning.
No bar to sit in or eating facilities if you fancy a nightcap like other Travelodges I've stayed in.

Stayed her on 27th dec 06. got room for £26 off website. Great price, good location, 2 mins from shops etc. Had to get up at 7.30am to put money in car park - which was a pain!! Room was clean, man on recption was friendly and helpful.
Comfortable, clean, central - what more do you want?

I got my room at this Hotel at sale price, which was excellent considering its central location.
Not much comment about the room - typically Travelodge - except to say it was comfortable and clean. I've stayed in a number of Travelodges and I've never understood why the get poor reviews. Certainly no complaints about this one.
This is a fairly new hotel and the lifts work using the room key cards, which may take you a moment to work out if you havent read the sign in the lift! The location is excellent - just a few mintes walk into the very centre of Liverpool and 5-10 minutes walk from Lime Street station (usually my main grumble with T/Lodges which tend to be miles from anywhere).
I got a great nights sleep and for the price - it cant be beaten.
Nothing too fancy; but a great central location

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in early May 2006, and enjoyed the central location of this hotel. It was a short walk from the train station (15 minutes), and another short walk to the city centre (another 10-15 minutes). The hotel does not have a restaurant, but the lobby does have a vending machine with sandwiches, drinks, and snacks. There is a great sandwich shop just down the street from the hotel, which was open during the afternoon. For breakfast, you can request a 'breakfast bag' which is delivered to your door in the morning and contains fruit, cereal, a croissant, and a travel cup for tea/coffee. We arrived early for our check in, and they allowed us to store our luggage while we walked down to the docks to explore the city. The hotel staff were very helpful; we needed to find a laundromat to do our laundry and they were able to direct us to one, as well as call the taxi for us. The room was not large, more a medium size. Just right for two people. The washroom was also a little small, but again, okay for two people. No noise complaints of any kind, we could not hear the traffic from our room either. Liverpool is an interesting city at night; at least to us travellers. We found that nearly all of the stores and restaurants closed down in the evening. So do be aware that the city can become quite empty at night, and it may be difficult to find a place to eat. Also, there are areas that should be avoided at night, especially if you are unfamiliar with the surroundings. However, Liverpool during the day is a fantastic city; the pedestrian downtown is great for shopping, having lunch, and going to the Docks. For Beatles fans, this hotel is very close to the "Beatles Story" (a 20 minute walk), and also close to the pickup location for the tour bus that runs from the downtown, as well as the famous "Cavern Club". This hotel is great for anyone looking for the downtown convenience, and being within walking distance to most of the major tourist attractions. It is what it is; a cheap hotel so do not expect any frills or extra amenities. So ladies, bring your own hair dryer!
