Five star name, four star quality
The hotel itself is easily accessible if you're going by private automobile, otherwise it is a bit of a walk from St Helens Central train station. The town and nightlife though is very closeby, but the entire area seemed a bit quiet when I was visiting. The greatest part of the hotel is that it is next to a Tesco supermarket that is open twenty-four(24) hours a day, making it possible to buy food for day trips etc.
The hotels facilities are limited to being inside the hotel itself and the hotel seemed a bit small. The rooms themselves were comfortable though I would not give them a five star rating, more like four. Check in and check out were easy and the staff was very friendly. I did not use the health spa which is probably the feature that they boast the most of the hotel.
I suggest this hotel to families traveling England by car who want to visit Liverpool and the surrounding areas. Situated between Manchester and Liverpool, you can stay here for much cheaper than in the actual cities.
