1 The Cedars, Walcott: Self Catering Holiday Bungalow

by ChrisnJan

This is a very comfortable and very well equipped bungalow with a fair sized enclosed garden backing onto open fields. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac it is only about 200 metres from the seafront. There is a convenience store, take-away and pub within easy walking distance.
Walcott is by no means a lively resort it is just a quiet little village with some very friendly locals although there are some larger towns only a short distance away such as Cromar (11 miles) or the city of Norwich (17 miles).

We have stayed in quite a few holiday lets but this was by far the most comfortable. Modern and well maintained I cannot think of a single thing I did not like about this bungalow.

Haven - Great Yarmouth: Haven Caravan Parks

by st_bridgie

The caravan had a double bedroom and two singles, a shower and loo, small kitchen and a loung/diner which could sleep two more people. It was clean and provided a tv, gas fire, crockery, kettle, toaster, fridge and cooker/oven. It was a short walk from a fish and chip shop, a chinese, the reception area, a small convienence shop, the entertainment area - which is geared up to keep the kids well occupied whilest the parents sat back and relaxed with a drink. You could join in with the kids as they had a swimming pool(indoor and outdoor), tennis courts and the beach near by. There was entertainment in the evenings that was children orientated in an area split into a stage and bar/food area. It was very good value for money.

As above, the facilities were geared for fine or wet weather. The kids would never get bored.
It was also within driving distance to take a trip on the norfolk broads and various other attractions. It has a par five nine hole golf course which we enjoyed. It is also a wonderful seaside town with all the usual attractions.

National Trust Holiday Cottages: Unique accommodation

by tissie

I have to start by saying I haven't used this accommodation....but I thought visitors to Norfolk may be interested to know it is available.

I often mention National Trust properties in my tips and have found it is possible to holiday in some of them - not just in Norfolk but across the country.

The contact details below will give you more information.

An amazing opportunity to stay in historic and unique buildings and locations - a converted barn, the gamekeeper's cottage, an apartment in one of the main houses.

These are not the cheapest accommodations available but they are very special. A week's let for 2006 ranged from £247 to £1067.

WROXHAM HOTEL: HOTEL ON THE RIVER BURE

by zuriga

We found the Wroxham Hotel a perfect spot for a short overnight stay. It's right on the River Bure and the views from our balcony window were lovely... boats, swans, the river. Breakfast is included but balcony rooms facing the water are a bit higher in price. Wroxham is a good location for touring the Broads or seeing the coast up to the north. It's just a short way out of Norwich. The rooms are simple but very clean and the staff was very accomodating. There's an outdoor terrace restaurant.

Great views of the river... boats... terrace restaurant and balconies if desired.

Four Winds: Quite Location

by kevin36

This Cosy little bungalow is called Four Winds one of many and the ideal getaway from all the hustle and bustle of modern day living.
It has basic facilities but comfy and cosy.
The only noise you will hear are the cows in a nearby field, but otherwise silence.
If you enjoy fishing, then you will be pleasantly surprised, plenty of roach bream perch and the odd Tench.
Video Snapshot

The views from the bungalow are of fields and the river, with no properties opposite to spoil your view.
everything has been thought of here from the picnic tables to the shower, also moorings for the hire boat, you will need one! it is a mile walk there and a mile walk back for the groceries.
But that's what makes this the superb location , out of reach except for the odd rambler.

Hotel Wroxham: Best location

by kevin36

Eighteen comfortable en-suite bedrooms, many of which have riverside view and balconies offer guests an oasis of calm at the end of a busy day.

All rooms have television, radio, direct dial telephones and a tea and coffee making facilities.

Other guests facilities are available via reception or out night porter.

The Waterside Terrace, Bar and Restaurant enjoys a unique position affording superb river views along this busy waterway at the heart of the Norfolk Broads

Petersfield House: Lovely location by the Water

by CdnJane

While this was 1979 that I was here, I still recall this as a lovely hotel.
I remember having a nice sized room, and they delivered tea first thing in the morning. I believe they now have tea & coffee making in the room.
It was an easy walk into the shops of downtown.
Nice lounge to relax.
My parents paid for the accomodation, so I have no idea of prices.

Wroxham Hotel: Not many memories... but I'm sure a nice place

by CdnJane

Don't really remember much about it. Stayed here back in May of 1979.
Do recall us having dinner at the hotel and being over-fed.
I was travelling with parents and don't know anything about the prices back then.
