My friend and I will visit a friend in Norwich in July 2010.
Does anyone know if there are any reasonably-priced B&B or Hostel for one night stay?
I hope there will be private bathroom for either the B&B or hostel, and hope it can be in the city area.

Thank you for your help.

I am not sure about Norwich. You mean Norwich in UK or in US? I guess You are talking about the one in UK. I have been there 2 months ago. You can find some hotel for about $45-50/night. I use this trave search engine to search: protraveldeals.com

All Norwich accommodation is listed on the oficial tourist information site here:

http://www.visitnorwich.co.uk/search-norwich.aspx?st=1&et=5

You are very unlikely to find private bathrooms in a hostel and Norwich no longer appears to have such accommodation for visitors. Many b&bs do now have en suite accommodation.

www.booking.com is a reliable hotel website, with honest guest reviews.

The Norwich Central Riverside Travelodge is offering rooms from 35GBP per night in July, and is near the city centre. Travelodges are a bit soul-less but operfectly satisfactory. Their breakfast is over-priced: better to find a local cafe.

A good website for finding B&Bs is www.smoothhound.co.uk. I use it frequently and have never been disappointed because there are photos of the places, plus links to their websites. It includes all price ranges.

i am really sorry i dont log in here often, i live in norwich and could have given you good information.

just a thought but it might be worth directly emailing a member from a place you want to visit as you may be more likley to get local info.

i hope you had a good stay?

Re: Visit

The trouble with emailing members directly is that they may not login either (not everyone has the notification box ticked) and not all members wish to receive emails from people with questions. So it's really best to post on the forums.

Tina, perhaps you could join us more often? Would be nice to see you around! :-)

hello leics

point taken....

but i work full time, welcome world visitors to my home from via couchsurfing.com, play bridge 2 nights a week, go mountain biking every weekend, and triathlon trianing as and when i can so......

at the moment im doing all the membership renewals for one of my mtb clubs and organisisng 3 seperate days of bike mechanics courses for my triathlon club and have little time.....

it was a couchsurfing request for info on sri lanka that got me logging back in here. now, of course, im tantalised by all the travel expereinces but the reality of my life is that theres not enough room for everything!!

thanks anyway x

Travel Tips for Norwich

French restaurant chain

by TonyBagnall about Cafe Rouge

Cafe rouge is a french chain restaurant. Not a bad idea, but the food was dissapointing when we went. French food badly done is pretty grim. In their defence, apprarently they had no gas the night we went, so obviously microwaved the food. Sauces were bland, potatoes under cooked and chicken limp. Nice enough place, but not worth it.
