I wish I had had more time
During my last stay in Cambridge I was going to visit Norwich. I had read about the magnificant cathedral there, the medieval castle and wanted to see this town.
Getting there was easy, by direct train from Cambridge. But there was a train strike this very day and I thought I'd have to abandon my visit. I decided to go to Cambridge train station and ask. Everybody was very friendly and helpful, even though there were many people, tourists and locals alike, asking about trains and the strike. It turned out that luckily for me there was one company who hadn't joined the strike, so their trains were running. I no longer had a direct train, a change in Ely, but I didn't care. I was happy to get to Norwich after all.
I didn't stay as long as I originally hoped to, but I wanted to make sure I got back to Cambridge in time for a meeting in the evening. That's why I didn't see much of the town itself and I never made it to the castle, only saw it from the outside.
Quite an impressive building, Norwich train station, isn't it?
