We arrived as one of the first for the Easter season, and they weren’t quite ready for us. The pump that provided spring water to the taps had broken and the paint was still drying in the shower room. Then the electrics blew. Nevertheless, they were a friendly bunch and all was sorted out over the course of the week.
There are several different camping areas. The largest is a field adjacent to the access farm track (watch out for the pot holes!). If you want electric, like us, you'll be right down the bottom of the track - just as you thought you could not get any further you arrive at a small paddock where they managed to squeeze 4 or 5 vans. If I've any major gripes it's that they just try to get too many onto a small area.
Over the Easter it was very busy and a second field was opened up as a rally field. Just as we thought they were full a group of Scouts arrived and went somewhere around the back! None of this caused us any problems though.
There are just 2 showers and 2 toilets at the rear of the Farmhouse, so things can get a bit busy when they are full.
The best bit about where we were is that you could walk to Goathland Station and the trains passed within 50 meters of us - lots of friendly waves from the passengers! We stayed in a barn conversion in the Millinder House complex. We had a ground floor apartment that had a combined living / kitchen area and a bedroom with bathroom off.
Well furnished and equally well equipped.
A 20 minute drive from Goathland.
