Where is everybody?
I was stationed in Harrogate back in the early 60's, and spent 2 years in the US Army there, but I don't see any postings from there. Does it still exist? Anyone out there, or did everyone disappear? I'm just surprised there isn't a posting from there, as it was a popular town back then.

Harrogate is still on the map last time I looked.
I have not been there since the 70s.
I only know that it is used as a shopping town
and has nice gardens.
I can't recall little else that is there.
Our Yorkshire friends can tell us more.
No VT pages on Harrogate then?

Still exists, originally spa town, popular for shopping & conferences. Never been, though my children have.

Its not gone away. Its as popular now as ever and it quite a genteel town. Noce public gardens and tea rooms.
I often go so if there isn't a page ( I have not checked) I will make one.

Have just returned from a week in Yorkshire during which time we visited Harrogate, also the Spring Flower Show at the Great Yorkshire Show ground and RHS Harlow Carr, west of Harrogate. We had a lovely time and I'm happy to report Harrogate is still there and thriving - it's a lovely place.

Thanks for your response. I think I just put Harrogate on the map, or at least on VT. I remember it being known as a place people retired to. Sounds like it has changed, but is still a nice town. Thanks for the info.

There is still a fairly large US military presence at Menwith Hill (satellite eavesdropping)
The Brits also have a training centre for new Army recruits...

I was in Harrogate from 81-84... I've been wondering where everyone is as well. I'll be back in May.
