We stayed at this hotel for two nights in October 2012.
Arriving early the owner came back to let us in and was very friendly.
Our original room wasn't ready thankfully as it was in the basement and didn't look that inviting through the window.
Shown to room 7 at the top of the house we found it to be adequate, beds were clean, as was the bathroom with ample towels, shampoo, soap etc.
Tea making facilities in the room, let down by powdered milk.
Heating was on all night so make sure you turn the thermastat down before going to sleep.
Our stay was made by the lady who looks after the hotel, including cooking the wonderful breakfasts. Her name is Yolanda and hasn't been with the hotel very long, (only a couple of weeks), she made us feel very welcome and looked after us with great charm and a cheerful manner. In fact without her, this review would have more negative points than positive.
On the down side.
The garden area really lets the hotel down, it looks like someone has just tipped all the building rubbish down the side of the car park. There is even an old hotel sign dumped there. So sitting in the garden area in the summer must be lovely, I don't think.
Unique Quality: The best thing I can say about this hotel is, it's position. It is centrally located for all the town centre attractions.
You don't have to walk very far to find great restaurants, you are spoilt for choice.
Yolanda, the hotel cleaner, come cook, come anything else that needs doing. Can't do enough for you to make your stay comfortable.
Directions: Just off the town center - ideal location.
