The Selomar Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. The breakfast was excellent and the bedroom was clean and comfortable. It was great value for money and we would definitely stay there again.Could not fault this hotel. We were made to feel very welcome. Would highly reccommend The Selomar.
we stayed for 2 nights a week ago in what looks like the room in the photo which is a family room. The room is in need of some repair, the shower isn't very powerful, and there are marks on the quilt covers and the towels could do with replacing. On the plus side the room we had overlooked the sea and it was lovely going to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. The breakfast was ok but they seemed to be in a rush to get people out of the dining room. The hotel is in a good location overlooking the sea and very near the castle. The landlord was very friendly as is the young girl who helps serve breakfasts and clean the rooms.
i have just spent the most wonderful week at the selomar.
Ken and Irene and super hosts very welcoming and most helpful.
My room was lovely and clean well laid out and extremely comfortable.

Just returned from a week at the selomar hotel ,FANTASTIC ,Could not fault it. Fantantic food,this hotel is a credit to ken and irene,we return to this hotel every year and are always made so welcome.Beautiful views over the bay,just wish we had gone for 2 weeks,many thanks for a fab holiday.
My yearly trip to Scarborough would not be the same if I didn't stay in the delightful Selomar Hotel! There is nothing else you can you ask for in this home from home hotel. The room are perfect, staff are charming and location great with a spectacular view of the sea. I would like to thank Ken and Irene for kind hospitality they have given to my family. We stayed at the Selomar Hotel Scarborough from 20th to 23rd July 2008 and didn't want to come home! Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast couldn't have been better. Everyone was so friendly and helpful we will definitely be back again.Loved the seaview bar! Laraine, Yvonne, Lisa & Sara from Richmond.
Me and my family stayed at the Selomar in late August. we have holidayed in Scarborough for the last 10 years and stayed at many different hotels. The Selomar is simply one of the best if not the best. It has a relaxed homely feel with a spotlessly clean interior and rooms and excellent and friendly service at breakfast and in their bar area. However, the one thing that make the hotel stand out...the owners. Ken and Irene know how to tailor and run a hotel for the most imortant thing....you the customer. Definately recommended.
A warm and friendly family run hotel. It takes a lot to impress me and this place has done just that. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I will certainly return there and also recommend it to my friends.
it was our first time to scarborough and we stopped at the selomar and all i can say is excellent.ken was a wonderfull host in the bar at night. irene and the girls serving breakfast were excellent breakfast was one of the best i have had.the rooms were loverly and clean. we will be back later in the year. from the lockkeeper
