Atlantis
by steventilly
Atlantis is the outdoor swimming and water fun park in the Norh Bay (by Peasholm Park). It always looked a tad cold when I was a kid, and I've never once been in it. Susan says that she has, but can't remember much. These days the pool is heated and boasts two of the country's longest tube slides. Swimming cozzie, towels.
Traditional farmhouse tea garden
by Britannia2 about Jingleby Thorn
With a wonderful name this is a traditional farmhouse tea garden open in the spring to end of summer period. The tables are all out in the garden or on the paved area in front of the farmhouse but this is a delightful place for tea and cake if the weather is good.
The menu is traditional English tea garden, - tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches (£1.80 - £2.20) and cakes and scones (70p - £1.50).
Friendly staff and the garden is lovely - a wonderful place to sit and relax. I think there is a small indoor area if it is raining.
You take a ticket and a menu from near the door, take a table and then wait for service - this seemed to be very quick.
The farmhouse falls within the Dalby Forest toll area so only available to people who have paid this toll.
Recommended.
At The Top
by steventilly
At the top of the hill a sign points the way to The North Bay. This route was closed when we visited due to some repair work, but anyway, you might want to visit the castle or the church of St. Mary's so go round past the entrance to the castle.
