A big place, popular for conferences and other social/business events as well as with tourists the St. Nic is as central as it gets, it has bars a gym and even a pool, some of its glory is faded but it’s not a bad place to stay. When I first stayed at the St. Nicholas I didn’t like it, I thought the staff were rude but they, like the hotel have grown on me and during my most recent visit the young team who make up the front of house staff were friendly and helpful, so maybe it was me.
I stay here regularly as I sometimes work in Scarborough, last time I was here I was given a really nice suite (see pic) and my only complaint is that there was a rather scratchy blanket on the bed of the sort we had in the 1970s, some of my colleagues weren’t quite so lucky with their accommodation and it may be an idea to ask to see the room before you check in. It’s difficult to give exact prices as there are lots of deals and things going on and as with most places in Scarborough it rather depends on the season.
Parking is a problem, if you can find a place outside you need to buy a permit from reception.
