the red lion is a pub slap bang in the middle of skipton. the beds are comfy and the pillows are sooooo comfy i cant even begin to describe them! i stayed there for 2 nights (30-31 march 2007) with my fiance and had a very pleasent weekend in skipton.
all bedrooms look out onto the main street which holds a market 4 days a week selling lovely cheese and all sorts of other things.
the breakfast in the hotel is quite nice too. the pub is open until midnight and some slight noise can be heard but its not enough to keep you awake! the pub itself is quite lively and has a very friendly atmosphere.
we ate in the wooley sheep at night as the red lion doesnt serve food in the evening but it does have abbots ale on draft which is good enough for me!
i would definately return to skipton!
