More about Seaview

Simply the best

by TripAdvisor Member theFatTraveller

I regularly stay in Whitby and have done so for a number of years. Having stayed in a wide variety of accomodation I have found SeaView to be simply the best. The standards of hygiene are the highest I have encountered anywhere. Delicious breakfasts cooked to order and catering for all dietary requirements using fresh ingredients. Plenty of alternatives available for those who do not want a cooked breakfast. Superb rooms with flat screen televison, fridge, en suite facilities, fabulous comfortable decor and complimentary drinks. The attention to detail is second to none with binoculars provided to appreciate the spectacular sea views and ear plugs for those who do not appreciate the sea gulls- or a snoring room mate! The hosts are friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, nothing is too much trouble for them. I have already booked my next stay at the SeaView and am looking forward to being back there soon. SeaView- simply the best!

We have visited Whitby for over 30 years, when our usual guest house closed the owner of that guest house recommended Seaview.
This guest house is immaculate ,the owners Brian and Abby make you feel so welcome ,we just love the art deco makes us feel back in our era .the rooms are spacious and well equiped so much choice of coffees/teas even ovaltine before we went to bed .
Breakfast is special ,a huge assortment of fresh fruits ,cereals,
the full english wow what can i say you just have to try it ,the best we have ever had .
One morning we bought a bottle of champagne which Brian
cooled for us and served in an ice bucket ,a lovely occassion .
nothing is too much trouble for them they are so helpful with information on places to see and local history .
this guest house is one not to be missed try it and see ,hope you love it as much as we do .I am sure you will .

Perfect location

Would definitely recommend a stay at Seaview, Whitby. Friendly welcome and hospitality throughout our visit. Enjoyed the quirky cool 1950's decor throughout the house. Great breakfast and fantastic location with views from our room over the harbour. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic stay in Whitby

by TripAdvisor Member Timeforapint

This must be one of the best B&Bs of all time! Fantastic decor (1930s/1950s), spotlessly clean, comfy beds, wonderful views of Whitby harbour and the abbey, splendid breakfast and friendly landlord. This was our second stay at Seaview and it will not be our last.

Seaview - A Lovely Place to Stay

by TripAdvisor Member Imatravellingman

Having just returned from a three day visit to Whitby, I have to add my voice to the throng who consider the Seaview Guest House as the best place to stay in Whitby.

The hospitality provided by Brian and Abby is second to none, the bedrooms are extrememely comfortable and recently decorated to an attractive "fifties" theme.

The views of the Abby, St Mary's and the coastline from the bedrooms are magnificent (particularly from the top floor rooms) and the town centre is less than three minutes walk away.

I've used a number of guest houses over the years and this is one of the best, equally the wonderful breakfast provided is up there with the best I've ever had.

I would recommend the Seaview to anyone without reservation

Thanks for a great stay.

Seaview - perfect

by TripAdvisor Member viking73

we have just returned from our first stay in whitby, our last couple holiday for a while as our first baby is due in July. Whitby is a fantastic town and Seaview a fantastic B&B. Brian and Abby obviously take pride in their establishment which shows through the attention to the obvious things that you would expect from a B&B, but also the details which made our stay so special. The B&B was very clean and tidy and room 7 was lovely with a fantastic view of the abby and sea. Brian and abby have obviously spent a lot of time collect the wide variety of art deco pieces that adorn the B&B which make your stay all the more interesting. there was a fridge in our room which was great as it allowed us to keep our drinks and goodies chilled through out our stay and the bed was big and comfy. the drinks etc were plentiful, including water as were the bathroom bits. the binoculars provided allowed us to take a closer look at our surroundings and there is a good folder providing you with information about the area.
Breakfast. what can i say, no corners cut here, again showing the amount of pride that abby and brian take in every aspect of their business, fresh fruit, yogurt, quality sausages, bacon etc, all served by abby on lovely denby plates in a wonderfully decorated breakfast room. after each of our breakfasts brian came in to chat to his guests to find out how our stay was going and give invaluable suggestions for things to do or places to eat.magpies and trenchers for fish and chips, yum. 2 really genuinely lovely, helpful people providing an excellent all round service. i would recomend the sea view to anyone.

Best little guest house in England

by TripAdvisor Member FirebrandEmmental

Super rooms, super view of sea, and super traditional English breakfasts. Brian and Abby have a personal ambition to really make you feel very welcome and comfortable for your stay. A place to recommend, without hesitation.

Newly renovated, extremely clean rooms - all en-suite.

Character dining room.

Coming from Switzerland, it gave an excellent impression of true English hospitality.

A wonderful place

I booked a weekend at the Seaview as a last minute break on a recommendation and couldn't have been more impressed by it. The welcome from Brian and Abby was fantastic, as were the room, decor and breakfast. We had an amazing view of the harbour and the Abbey which really added to the whole experience. Definately a place which we will return to!!

Everything you could want

We had a fantastic stay this weekend at Whitby. The Seaview is everything you need in a guest house. Very clean with excellent views from room 2..... The breakfasts were delicious too.

Great B&B

by TripAdvisor Member UKtraveller33

Nicely renovated older property in excellent location, with views across to the Abbey and out to sea. It's just above the harbour, so a short walk to the great fish and chip restaurants (Magpie did a fantastic cod and chips).

Our room was very clean and modern, comfortable bed, lots of attention to detail. No lounge. Excellent breakfast, nicely cooked and presented.
