I was staying there as a single. They made sure I had everything I needed and more. Delicious breakfast. The lady of the house was very helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to do. Along with suggestions of places welcoming to just singles. The rooms were tastefully decorated. My room was small, but still plenty of space for just me. I got a glimps into one of the larger rooms. Very nice. I would stay there again, given the chance.
Unique Quality: Not in the center of town. Down the street a bit, in a quite, quaint neighborhood. Easy walking distance to everything.
Directions: From the train station, stay to the left (over the bridge), passed the Art Gallery. Turn left onto Bootham. Bit down that, right onto Grosvernor. Easy walk. I took a taxi to find it, wasn't needed.
Wow, what can I say. In our two week trip, the Bronte Guest House was the nicest B&B we visited. Beautiful rooms, bordering on luxurious for a B&B, immaculately clean bathroom, moderately spacious, kind hosts, nice breakfast. A complete pleasure to stay at; it would be the first place I would call on a return trip to York.
