The friendliest man in York
We had a nice stay at this small (7 room) Guest House. It's conveniently located within 10 minutes walk of both the train station and the city centre, the rooms were comfortable, the breakfasts were good, and the host was very welcoming. Only drawback was that this is located right next to the train tracks. This wasn't a problem for us, but might be for others.
Unique Quality: The host really went out of his way to welcome his guests. Although we loved York, we found the people were often a bit dour. Thankfully this was not the case here. It's also completely nonsmoking and all the rooms are ensuite.
