The Yorvic hotel is situated right opposite the gateway to the Museum Gardens and is just a 5 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Central York. The rooms were clean and modern. The double room we stayed in had a gigantic bed, hospitality tray, flat screen tv, power shower and a fabulous Jacuzzi bath with mood lighting. It was lovely and cosy and very peaceful which gave us the best of both worlds in being central but in a nice quiet side street. The breakfast room was ultra modern & the full cooked breakfast was really nice although they were a bit stingy with the black pudding - we had half a slice each! The coffee machine was a bonus though, you could fill up with a coffee of your choice as many times as you like.
All in all, we had a lovely stay here and I would like to stay here again and would definitely reccommend it to others.
Unique Quality: The Jacuzzi bath was great and a lovely way to finish off a day of sightseeing.
Has anyone ever stayed at this small hotel in York? I imagine the rooms are tiny but it looks kind of cool. Just want to know if it's decent and clean.
I don't know that one, Laura, but we stayed at a decent B&B in York a few years ago.. The Four Poster. It was within walking distance of the centre... easy parking, too.
Thanks June, I'll have a look for that one.
