A Cool Hostel
My stay at York YHA was very comfortable. I was in an 8-bed dorm and our bathroom was right across the hall. I arrived early but was allowed to put my stuff in their luggage storage room (although make sure you have a lock on your stuff - just to be sure). The rooms were clean and very roomy. The staff were very polite and helpful.
Unique Quality: The hostel is situated in a nice area of York, near the River Ouse, and only about 25 mins walking distance from York Minster. They have the internet (although its coin operated and therefore a bit ritzy - might be better off using an internet cafe in the city).
They're daytime facilities also consist of: Restaurant, lounge, study, games room, self-catering kitchen, cycle and luggage stores, laundry and they have nicely kept lawns and garden.

Yorks best hostel
stayed a couple of times friendly staff not far from train station,away from the bars it is set in a quiet location clifton .
