Well, this county is called Rose of the Shires. It has some beautiful countryside but like anywhere really it has some not so nice places.
Northampton itself has a long history of shoe making and the football team is even called the Cobblers. Some of the rugby team were in the 2004 rugby thing that we won (sorry cant remember much as dont like it!!)
River Nene flows through the county and there are lots of riverside pubs and walks along tow-paths.
Northamptonshire is also meant to be VERY haunted and there are lots of stories about a whole load of ghostly goings-on! Northamptonshire also has its own regional dialect such as aint (isnt it)
kent (cannot) enna gunno (Im not going to) and there is a famous cartoon strip called Air Ada in which she talks like that all the time!!!
A lot of the older folk still say Alright me duck? when a lot of other ppl would probably say How are you?
Very friendly people, the villages are a lot more picturesque than the towns, with their thatched roofs and red phone boxes and stone walls. One village even has 3 resident peacocks!
And we are only an hour from London. But shoes are cheaper here and we are the original home of Doc Martens shoes, and Rushden and Diamonds football club.
