Down at heel, rotten service. AVOID.
Great location and an obviously once grand hotel. But now extremely shabby exterior, dirty reception, poor service, no atmosphere as all period features have been removed, and to cap it all an aggressive and bullying manager - a Mr Charlie Moore - who was so rude to us when we asked if the garden was open that we left immediately without even finishing our drinks. Nice one! Such a shame. I've never felt like I might be attacked by someone for asking if we could sit in their garden. While Mr Moore was shouting at us, a female member of staff was leaning against the wall giggling - brilliant stuff. Avoid like the plague until the management changes - this guys must be the worst hotel managers in the world.
Unique Quality: Perfect for observing how not to run a hotel.
Mediocre hotel, not hideous but not worth the £109 paid for a twin room. Reception staff not very helpful, especially regarding parking info. You can park for free after 5:30. Breakfast good and evening meal quite nice but not worth the money. We were on the top floor and our room was very cold. When we informed reception about this we were promised heat very soon. Our heating never came on for the duration of our stay. Have stayed in better hotels for less money.
Unique Quality: Nice walled garden area and we were able to take our small dog.
