I booked to come to the Park Plaza for one night when Gaz & I went to see Justin Timberlake at the Nottingham arena. The hotel is fantastic, its in a superb location in the heart of the City, close to the nightlife, close to lots of beautiful restaurants, bars and of course the Nottingham Arena. The staff were very friendly and the room was very spacious and immaculately clean, there was a mini bar, hair dryer, television and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was fantastic, you can adjust the head on it to massage your back....very soothing. The hotel also has a restaurant called Chino Latino on site which serves Asian meals which is an award winning restaurant.
The unique quality of the Park Plaza is the location, it is ideal for business or pleasure as its close to everything such as the business district of Nottingham, the nightlife, restaurants and bars and also Nottingham Castle, Nottingham Arena, Royal Concert Hall and Robin Hood. Also a big quality is the bed, we had a double room and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable with big feather pillows.... i had the best sleep ive had in a long time. So if you want a stunning hotel in a fantastic location then the Park Plaza is the place to stay!

by CliffClaven Nottingham has a Hilton and a Holiday Inn, but old Cliffie can recommend the Strathdon Hotel for its convenient city-centre location, just a short stroll from the city shops and the Tales of Robin Hood theme centre. Rooms may be smaller than Americans are used to, but they are clean and comfortable. Theme: OtherComparison: about average

The hotel is situated between the railway station and the bus station, next to the canal, and is only a 5 minute walk from the city centre. A single room without shower costs £24 per night, and a double is £39, breakfast included in the price. Rooms with showers or ensuite facilities are a little more. I've had better breakfasts, but for the price this isn't bad - grapefruit, cereal and a (small) 'full' English consisting of sausage, bacon, eggs (fried, scrambled or poached), fried bread, beans or tomatoes, and toast, with tea or coffee, and orange juice. The hotel is a bit run-down, but the rooms are clean, and there's a 24-hour reception. Bookings by phone, and they ask for a £10 deposit per person, and the balance to be paid on check-in. They also now ask for a £10 key deposit which is refunded on check-out.
