The oldest pub in England, has a room carved out of the side of a sandstone cave.
The "Castle" that was missing, but has an awsome art collection. the caves under the city date back as long as people wrote stuff down, the entrance is in a rock shop in the mall. this is a "city center" The Art collection at the castle.
The 100 bus goes outside the city to Southwell. The journey takes about 20+ minutes.
This quaint small town has a gorgeous Norman minster, Byron connections, a pub where Charles the First spent his last night of freedom before his capture by the roundheads, a National Trust Victorian workhouse and even a racecourse!
I always pop into the traditional sweetshop before taking the bus back.
Bus stop is in King Street.
Southwell has a folk music festival in early June.
The Corner House is a group of bars and restaurants in one place. There's even a gym and a cinema!
Bars include Santa Fe (mexican themed), Saltwater (nice view of the city on the balcony), Slug and Lettuce...
Restaurants include Pizza Hut, Sausage, TGI Friday's, Bella Italia, a new all you can eat Chinese themed place...
There was a nightclub called The Works which is now closed...
The Cinema is a multiplex and the gym is a Virgin Gym.
It's right next to the Victoria Centre and is good because you can have a whole night out in one spot (perfect if it's raining outside!)
Conveniently there's a cash point outside but it's not a place for people on small budgets especially if you like cocktails (like me!) as it's usually at least £5 a cocktail. Smart ish casual. There's people in jeans and a shirt right up to evening dresses as the theatre is across the road.
Antibo's has a fantastic menu with lots of choice for all tastes, Pizzas, spaghetti, steaks, kebabs and more. The staff are great too, really friendly and helpful and always ready to serve you. The restaurant is very clean and modern and has a lovely atmosphere. Its quite busy at weekends so sometimes you may need to book in advance. I enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese and i also like the steak kebab on a skewer. For a starter they do gorgeous garlic mushrooms with a nice breadroll and the garlic bread is delicious too.

Well, that's what the blurb says, and the little Clavens really enjoyed it. And old Cliffie didn't mind, since they sell beer at the little café inside. Nice souvenir shop, too. And at night they turn the place into a medieval banquet hall, with a Robin Hood show.
