Help!

by amyh23

I'm really hoping someone can give me some much needed advice about the best places to head for on a night out in Nottingham. I've never been into Nottingham before so have no idea where to head for, and i'm finding it difficult to get any information on the internet.
What i'd really like to find out is the best place to park a car(in safety) and still be within walking distance of some good bars and clubs.
Please help :-)

Hello there

Well, it really depends what kind of bars and clubs you want.

Presuming you want quite hip and stylish places, your best bet would be Fletcher Gate car park which is near the Lace market and Hockley areas of Nottingham. It is 24 hours, well lit, with security cameras. It is £3.00 all evening if you park after 5.00pm.

Fletcher Gate Car Park. NCP car park, well lit and reasonable flat rate for evening parking after 6pm. It's situated on the edge of the Lace Market and very central for other areas of Nottingham City Centre. Have a good night out.

I don't want to be picky, but Fletcher Gate is NOT an NCP car park. I only mention this because there *is* an NCP car park nearby (Stoney Street) and I'd hate you to get confused and follow the signs to this one as it is much more expensive.

Weekday Cross

by iwys

Weekday Cross was the original town centre of Nottingham, before it shifted to the Old Market Square. For hundreds of years the Weekday Cross stood in front of the town hall, and markets were held here from Saxon times. The stone market cross is still here, but it has been moved slightly from its original location.

OCEAN SOUL

by anthoslehardos about Ocean

The ultimate meat market.
Ocean is a legend among Notts Uni students: it's the place where you have to go at least once in a lifetime. You're sure to meet everybody you know and dance to all the stuff you hear on Radio One. It's the cheesy experience...
I went there 15 times in 9 months, so I can tell.Had great moments with great people.
Entry is 2 pounds for students on Tuesday and Thursday (eighties night!!! woohoooo!) Try no sneakers...or just follow the trend.

Rooftop bar restaurant

by iwys about Saltwater

Saltwater Restaurant, at the top of the Cornerhouse is a pleasant place to eat and drink on a summer evening. There is a terrace bar, with a nice atmosphere. The food is above average, with an emphasis on modern British cuisine. If you eat before 7pm, you can get 2 courses for £6.95 and you can also get a 50p discount on any pint of beer, which as they serve delicious draft Kronenbourg weiss beer, is the drink I favour when eating here. The parma ham and cheese salad is a tasty starter.

Robin Hood statue

by CliffClaven

Isn't this why you came to Nottingham? The statue of Robin Hood stands below the castle, and there are usually a few tourists taking pictures. Join the queue, and when you have finished you'll be happy to know that England's oldest pub is only a short walk away.
