    Disappointing

    by

We found this hotel online and booked online by credit card. It was only £55 per night for a twin bedded room, without breakfast.
From the outside the hotel looks quite acceptable, and there is a car park at the back, but inside was a great disappointment. When we went to complete the registration form, we were told there was no twin bedded room available. We were offered a double room in the basement next to a workshop, and had access to a shared bathroom. When we showed our reluctance to accept the room, the clerk made a phone call and then offered another double room on the ground floor. It was ok, having a ,bathroom ensuite wardrobe, and. Tv, It overlooked the car park.
WE then completed the registration and were asked to pay. We assumed payment had been made when we gave the credit card details on line. Luckily we had cash , so paid.
WE had an evening engagement so wanted to freshen up, but discovered there was no hot water. We contacted reception, to be told to allow the tap to run for a while. We had already tried that, but did so again. No hot water. The clerk then promised that there would be hot water in the evening.
On our return, we found nothing had changed and were told the boiler needed repair, but there would be hot water in the morning. Needless to say there wasn't!
There was nowhere to sit but on the bed. The wardrobe had no hangers.
However there was an electric kettle with some teabags and coffee, milk and sugar.
We were able to watch TV before going to sleep..

We declined the offer of breakfast at £5 each extra.

Unique Quality: This was one of the worst hotels I have experienced ..

Note: looking on Trip advisor on our return, I have discovered the hotel had raves in February 2013, but since then has had new owners and the reviews are terrible.

    Avoid at all costs.
