A nice place to follow an Oxford course

During an one week course, we stayed in this place which was nice, but not very close to the center.

What a great place!

What a pleasure! We very much enjoyed the wonderful quality room, excellent above and beyond the call of duty service! Breakfast was superb. Our only regret was our visit was too short. Stay at the Burlington House. Only minor issue, a bit of a walk to town. Cab service back was no problem.

Delightful...

Having spent a delightful few days in Oxford, I wanted to share my enthusiasm for this cozy, comfortable B&B. Tony and his family have established a first class, spotless inn with modern (apparently new) furniture, a welcoming decor, and gracious service. As advertized, the breakfast is exceptional, the staff extremely helpful, and the price quite reasonable. Tony was a big help when my computer didn't interface with the local internet and since I was doing research at the Bodleian that was a problem. He graciously allowed me to use his own system which made everything right. I highly recommend the Burlington as a maximum experience of comfort, convenience, and price.

Best Ever!

We stayed for 5 nights in September and loved every moment. We have stayed in many exceptional B&B's and this ranks among the top. Most notable was the hospitality, even before we arrived. We were managing our schedule around our college aged daughter and changed our reservation more than once and even included her for one night. Tony and Royd could not have been more accomodating and patient, even welcoming our daughter after her long trip with all her luggage. We are still talking about the breakfasts. What delight! The service, the bread, the coffee, the granola and yoghurt. We walked, used the bus and cabs to get around easily. We had a health concern, a computer need and many questions about our first time in Oxford and all needs were met in a heartbeat. We long to return and left with many fond memories. If you look up hospitality in the dictionary, you will see a picture of this special inn and it's gracious and welcoming innkeepers.

rave review for luxury B&B in Oxford!

Just returned from too short of a stay at the Burlington House. We absoutely loved everything about it. The moment we arrived, Tony offered us fresh orange juice and cookies and escorted us to our very large, beautifully appointed king bedded room. The decorative fabrics were beautifully coordinated and the bedding was sumptuous. The bathroom was meticulously clean and included name brand toiletries usually found at luxury hotels with a fantastic shower.

The gourmet breakfast was superbly prepared and beautifully presented. There was a cold buffet with homemade granola, cereals, yogurt and fruits served with their own homemade bread. In addition there is a full menu which offered the best mushroom omelet ever! We didn't need or want to eat lunch.

Can't wait to return!

Absolutely fabulous ...

We have stayed in this hotel twice now - and you just cannot fault it. In fact once you have stayed here you just wouldn't stay anywhere else! It's a lovely building and so beautifully decorated throughout. Its location is perfect - a ten minute bus ride into the city and is a a great base to see Oxford and other surrounding places of interest. The rooms are exquisite and everything is pristine clean. A significant reflection on Burlington House is that its hosts Tony and Royd give you their personal attention and go out of their way to be accommodating and friendly. The breakfast is fantastic, with a cold buffet and a hot menu (try the field wild mushroom omelette - it changes your life!) and which is cooked to order. Part of me wants to keep this wonderful hotel a secret! But such a lovely place deserves to be recognised. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Perfect

My husband and I stayed at the Burlington House Hotel in December, and it was perfect! Bleary-eyed from an overnight flight, we were made welcome with fresh orange juice. Our room was large, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Tony and Royd were very helpful in answering all our questions, giving us directions, sending us off to Rousham Park, and pointing us to good restaurants and other interesting places to visit. The breakfasts were fabulous: eggs cooked to order, but don't miss the delicious homemade granola with creamy yogurt. We'll go back to Oxford, where our son is studying, and won't think of staying anywhere else.

A national treasure

A wonderful experience thanks to the genuine friendliness and kindness of the owners and staff. One of the proprietors, Tony, no doubt noting my elderly tiredness, actually carried my luggage! The choices at breakfast, whether cooked or otherwise were wide enough to cater for every taste and were served amid a delightful ambience. I wouldn't look any further than the Burlington on any future visit to Oxford.

Delightful Stay

We stayed at Burlington House for 3 nights while attending a meeting in St. Anne's college. It was quiet, very clean and welcoming. The king bed was very comfortable. As noted in other reviews, the breakfasts were delicious. The staff went out of their way to be helpful.

An excellent choice.

We stayed overnight before visiting Oxford Brookes Uni but wished we could have stayed longer.
This is a superb guesthouse. The family are very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The rooms are clean and bright with lovely furnishings. We enjoyed breakfast, lots of choice and plenty of tea!
We would recommend this b&b unreservedly.
