Don't Forget to Look Up!
by Etoile2B
One of the most interesting architectural features throughout Oxford is the prevalence of gargoyles adorning the gothic structures in the city. Just remember to look up while you're strolling through and you'll be sure to catch these creatures looking down upon you!
Escaping it all

Occasionally, you get so tied-up in everyday life, that you forget how nice the place you live in and its surroundings really are. Sometimes, I try to escape to somewhere like South Parks, or Boars Hill, to take in the views and remind myself just why I love Oxford! Unfortunately my picture doesn't do them justice, but the views are great!

If you're a student looking to come to Oxford, or a current Oxonian needing information, thestudentroom (popularly referred to as TSR), is a great Oxford website. They address all student needs, from places to club and party, pub ratings, restaurant critiques, college stereotypes, study stereotypes, admissions for graduates and undergraduates, for overseas students and local students, and more!
NOTE: TSR is not just focused on Oxford, but on Oxbridge and all other UK colleges. It's very much a UK based site for undergraduate students but it acts as a resource for almost everything, including technology, politics, religion, sex/health and relationships and more!
Football in University Parks
by shutterlust
Grab a football (of the soccer variety) and a bunch of friends and head over to University Parks off of Banbury Road! Organize your own football game and celebrate (because everyone's a winner!) at one of the many pubs littering Oxford! (Our personal favorites, the Turf Tavern or King's Arms right down the street from the park). University Park is the Central Park of Oxford, giving enough green space for picnics, football games, suntanning, wine and cheese parties, summertime movies in the park, study groups and more! Football games are just one of the many sports that take place in University Park and even if you don't play and are more of a spectator, there's plenty to watch and cheer for!
Christchurch Meadow

Take a stroll along the river. Pack a picnic and watch the rowing teams practice. Just be careful and don't get locked inside! They close the gates at dusk and if you're inside, good luck finding a way out. Needless to say, I learned this the hard way!
