Good For Couples
I have no complaints about Travelodges. If you can book one of the special offers, rooms can be as low priced as £19 a night. We actually paid £39 for a family room and £29 for a double, as I was just too late to get them both at the same price. Be careful, prices on the internet fluctuate and can change daily. When you think you have a good price, book it, don't delay!
Friday night there seemed to be people coming and going all night. Saturday appeared quieter or perhaps I just slept better!
Unique Quality: All rooms are similar. We had a decent double bed with a soft mattress but comfortable, a bed settee, rather tatty but adequate, a decent bathroom and a basic television. Tea and coffee facilities also.
The chipboard dressing table had seen better days and was peeling but what the heck! At least the windows opened and we were able to cool the over heated room down.
Bath towels were of a decent quality and the water was hot.
Internet available in the lobby. £2 for 20 mins, I think.
Car parking costs £3 for 24 hours.
One complaint, the one small bar of soap provided!
This Travelodge has a petrol station (cheap petrol as well) and a Little Chef very close by.
A taxi from Magdalen College to the Travelodge cost us £8.70.
There is also a park and ride very close.
Directions: Situated in a service area on the Peartree roundabout, northwest of Oxford centre.
