70 pounds for a nights accommodation hurt quite a lot, but I did get to spend the night in a very special place.
Breakfast is included in the price, and I found the service to be very friendly and helpful.
Bathrooms include both bidet and loo, and shampoo, soap, bath gel and moisturiser are included. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the rooms, and I found a trouser press in the corner too.
Unique Quality: The Feathers Hotel is a wonderful building built in the early 16th century. It became an inn towards the end of the century and has been expanded and renovated over the years. The floors and ceilings are kind of droopy, and you have to wend your way through the passages to your room, but the atmostphere is lovely, and the member's lounge room is amazing. Above the fireplace is an intricately carved 16th century mantlepiece that it is believed came out of the local castle.
Best of all, the staff at the Feathers will hook you up with James. (see my other Ludlow travel tips to find out about James..)
