We stayed at Chestnuts in their superior room (£85 per night). The B&B was lovely - within easy walking distance of the City Centre (if you go don't miss the Moon & Sixpence for dinner) and the train station.
Set in a lovely stone house the room was spacious and very clean. The shower was divine!
Having stayed previously at the Dorion House and being extremly dissapointed at the crummy breakfast (for £195 per night!) we weren't expecting much at Chestnuts but it was wonderful! Great big portions and very very friendly service and the ingredients were obviously high quality.
DEFINITELY recommend this B&B
A very enjoyable stay.
Excellent facilities, lovely rooms and superb food.
Thanks to Toni for being so helpful.
A perfect base for a break in Bath, only a few minutes from the main attractions.
I would definately book again. 10/10
We would definitely recommend Chestnuts House. We stayed there for four nights over the August Bank Holiday and have no complaints.
The room was beautiful, tastfully decorated, spotlessly clean and a luxurious wrought iron bed. Gorgeous white fluffy towels in the bathroom and a lovely strong shower. No detail was overlooked, with special little extras-the Pringles and shortbread were ideal to keep us going until dinner after a day walking round Bath.
The dvd player and pile of dvds was also extremely welcome, after a day of doing tours and a big meal out, lovely to come back and have something good to watch!
The breakfasts were also excellent. Cooked to order and the best bacon I have ever eaten. Also loved the fresh fruit salad and pancakes every morning-so much to choose from!
It was also served with a smile and some free advice on what tours etc to do, which was always welcome as everything recommended turned out to be very enjoyable.
Bath is a wonderful place to visit plenty to see and do and Chestnuts House was ideally located for the centre, an easy 10 minute walk and you are in the centre-walking through the park was also an added bonus.
A few highlights of our trip which we would recommend to others were the free walking tour of Bath, the Bizarre comedy walk, roman baths-of course, the new thermae spa and for food our favourite meal was Clarkes on Pulteney Bridge-about five mins from Chestnuts!
We will definitely go back in the future-if you are thinking of going-do and enjoy!
Loved It !!!
The Chestnuts House has definitely set the standard for excellence for B&B establishments. I felt like I was staying at a 5 star hotel. The house is light, bright, and incredibly clean. We stayed in room #2, and it was well appointed and nicely decorated! The room was a lot larger than I had expected, which made for a comfortable stay. It was definitely all of the little things that made our stay pleasant: The comfortable bed with soft pillows and a warm comforter, the flat screen TV, the DVD collection, wonderful shower, huge fluffy towels, toiletries, french pressed coffee in the mornings...I could just go on and on. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Toni is an amazing cook! The continental breakfast was definitely satisfying, with a huge array of cereals, fruit, pastries, bread, cheese, crepes (my FAVORITE!) and juices. Following the continental breakfast, Toni prepares a main dish (we had the choice of an omelette, full English breakfast, or smoked salmon with eggs), which needless to say, kept us well fed each morning. Toni was a very kind, helpful and gracious host. He made my husband and I feel right at home the moment we walked in. We felt like we had known him forever! The house is in a GREAT location. It was only about 8 minutes from the city center, and in a quiet neihborhood that was steps from a park. Staying at the Chestnuts house definitely made our stay in Bath a memorable one. My husband and I stayed in Central London after our trip to Bath, and the B&B we stayed at was nowhere near as nice and pleasant as Chestnuts. I've been spoiled now! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and would stay there again in a heartbeat if I'm ever in Bath again. Thank you Toni, for a wonderful stay, we loved it!!! Let us know if you're ever in Southern California!
Luxury in Bath
We only stayed for one night in Bath but consider ourselves very lucky to have discovered The Chestnuts. The accommodation is fantastic, we had a family room which was immaculately clean and modern and our son was chuffed to bits with the DVD player (a nice touch). The proprietor made us feel extremely welcome and gave us plenty of information which enabled us to enjoy our brief stay. Breakfast was first class our only regret was that we were only there for one night, would definitely recommend it and will be going again without doubt.
Bath was great too!
chestnuts is the nuts !
From the moment the door was opened we felt at home
extremely clean bright property and a fantastic room and location
5 mins walk from the centre of bath
great breakfast and helpfull and informative staff
Home away from home
From the moment we made the reservation at Chestnuts House, I felt comfortable with our choice. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room which was well decorated and very pleasing to us. Both the room and bathroom were spotless and provided us with all the comforts of home. The house is also vey convenient to downtown Bath.
Toni, the owner, was charming and very informative. He guided us in the best direction to make our stay in Bath wonderful. His breakfasts were wonderful being prepared for us to our specific requests.
We were sad to leave this establishment and recommend it without hesitation.
W e spotted the Chestnuts while on a day trip to Bath earlier in the year. We were so impressed with Bath that we decided to return and spend more time there. We booked in to the Chestnuts and all we can say is that you would be hard pushed to find anywhere as good. The location, accomodation, food and hospitality were all excellent. We can't wait to go back.
Thank you very much Toni for a most enjoyable stay.

Quality and good taste at Chestnuts House
Offering a warm welcome , superb accommodation and breakfasts to die for , Chestnuts House simply oozes quality and good taste. Bath is charming with all its main attractions only minutes level walk away - we can't wait to pay a return visit !

A Haven of Luxury & Peace
We recommend Chestnuts to everyone wanting luxury and a bit of peace . This beats any hotel we have stayed at and it is reasonably priced.. Everything was First Class. Tasteful modern decoration and furniture throughout, very comfortable beds, crisp linen and soft towels. Bedroom / Bathroom luxuries were replaced as these were used. Bedrooms were a little too warm for us but all the double glazed windows opened so this was not a problem. A fantastic breakfast using quality produce set us up for the whole day. The conservatory was a little too warm for us but again this was solved by opening windows . Our hosts were most welcoming and always eager to help whenever asked to do so. Maximum 10 minute easy stroll into Bath centre, safe car parking and a quiet street. Walking back at night was not a problem.
We stayed for 4 nights at the end of September 2006 and had a wonderful time.
A great B&B and as there were no children during our stay this was an added bonus for us.
