This guest house is lovely. Our room was of a very high standard and the location was excellent. It was very clean and had a good shower!
The owners made us feel very welcome and the fry up for breakfast deserves a good recommendation.
This was our second visit this year having been hugely impressed by our last visit.
It isn't just the bedroom, which is spacious and comfortable, nor the breakfasts - large and delicious- or the scenic beauty. What lifts it above other 4* establishments is the incredible kindness of Ali and Ian. The latter is likely to offer to run you into town at the drop of a hat while both smile a lot.
It all turns a "lodge"into a "home"
A marvellousely restful and comfortable short stay. The breakfasts were excellent and the hospitality very welcoming without being overbearing. Have already recommended to others and would certainly when possible return for further stays.
Although a quick visit to Bath, we loved it! Ali, Ian and family are wonderful and made us feel like we were visiting old friends for the weekend. The room was very nice, the bed was especially comfortable and the breakfast was divine. Thank you- we'll be sure to visit again!
My wife and I staid 4 days at high beeches. Let me say at the outset, that I can fully recommend High beeches to every perspective guest. You will have a great time there, sharing the hospitallity of Ali, Ian and Rufus. Strengthened by a very good full englisch breakfast, we explored not only Bath (fantastic city) but followed also Ian and Ali's always reliable recommendations to visit other places. We spent great days out! Hopefully we will return within the next 12 months.
I stayed at High Beeches for a wedding back in Aug 08 and was so impressed with the place, I stayed there again when I went back in October to see the city we didn't get to see the first time around!
The rooms are gorgeous and the place is very easy to get to from the centre of town. Ian and Ali were really really lovely hosts and did everything possible to make our stay(s) as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. The breakfast is well worth a mention and set us up for the whole day!
We really couldn't have had a better experience. My advice would be to book it now before everyone finds out about this place and they are booked up until 2010!

Our room was very comfortable and sunny, with lovely views.

We have travelled extensively in the USA, Canada and New Zealand staying at many B&B's. High Beeches ranks with the best of them. This is a gem. A real home from home experience in an ideal location with the city centre a short bus ride away.
The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully furnished with stunning views of the countryside Breakfast is a tasty treat.
Ian and Ali went that extra mile to ensure we had a memorable holiday helping us plan our daily itinerary and recommending great local pubs/restaurants for dinner each evening which were only minutes away.
We certainly recommend the idyllic High Beeches to anyone visiting Bath.
We had a fantastic weekend, made special by great hosts Ian, Ali and Rufus. Real home from home, very comfortable beds, excellent breakfasts and loads of helpful advice on eating out and visiting the city centre. Quiet & peaceful surroundings, definitely will return.
