Bath
I used to love coming here as a child. The last time I was here was with my parents in 1982!
There is no truth to the story about the bath's water helping you of ails, but it is a fun place to come :-)

Hi, i'm going to reading festival on Thursday and my coach leaves from Avon Street Car Park, could anyone please tell me the fastest way to get from Bath Spa station to the car park, this would be much appreciated and is pretty urgent. cheers xx
Hi, i'm jealous - Reading should be great fun. Anyway the info you require can be found on the following link. As you will see the car park (P2) is only a short walk from the Railway Station. Have a lovely time:

A great park with beautiful floral display just by the Avon and Kennett Canel. There is a small charge to enter the park about £1.50 but worth the money especially if you take some food and have a picnic. Please be warned no alcohol is allowed in the park.
Bath Abbey contains hundreds of these plaques, one of the highest numbers in the UK (second highest, I believe). I found this one original because of the beaver and the camel. Have a look around - the most famous one is that of Richard Nash, which is not far on the left from this one - the first one this wall.

I'm happy that I managed to capture it this clear ! Also, in the background notice the beautiful structures of The Bath Abbey !
The Rat & Parrot is centrally located, has great food, pseudo-Roman ambience, and lots of character. The pub is spacious, but usually crowded. There are two floors and a variety of seating options. The bathrooms are appaling - not a single stall had a door capable of locking or staying shut and they were quite filthy.
Now for what's best about the place - if you come in the evening you can get the 'two meals for one' deal, and the choices are fantastic. We must have tried everything on the menu and it was all fresh-cooked fantastic. The portions are huge enough that we could never eat the whole meal. The price (for two) is very good, although the service is a bit slow. My favorite dish was the huge gammon steak accompanied by a fried egg, sauteed mushrooms, sausage ring, and toast that was delicious. I substituted mushrooms for the usual peas, but they don't charge for reasonable substitutions.

Q: Parking in Bath,Somerset "Hi all 1) Are there Park and Ride facilities in and around Bath? 2) If we want to spend the day (or best part of) in the centre..."
A: "There are indeed Park & Ride facilities and I would strongly recommend using them. Bath streets were designed for carriages not cars! Some are now pedestrianised, others..."
