2 for 1 entry
by Dabs
Since we used the train to get to Bath, we could get 2 for 1 admission to several attractions in Bath including the top attraction, the Roman Baths. They did ask to see our train ticket so don't try to get the discount without having traveled by train. You also need to print out the voucher and bring it with you, one for each of the attractions you plan on visiting.
Things to bring to Bath
by suvanki
A day sack to carry your camera, fleece, waterproof etc Comfy shoes for walking around the many sights, though most of the attractions are very close together.
The weather can be variable, so bring a waterproof or umbrella.
Bath is quite a smart place, so you might feel a bit out of place in jeans/t shirts /trainers in some of the more elegant restaurants/ bars at night. However, there are plenty of places were you'd feel comfortable dressed more casually. Plenty of chemists etc in Bath.
The old fashioned pharmacy at the end of Pultney Bridge is worth a visit for stocking up on forgotten items (see my shopping tip) Bath has some very interesting buildings and sights, so plenty of film/ batteries/ memory card etc should be packed! There are photography shops in Bath if You need to restock No beach, but plenty of surrounding countryside/ river walks etc.
Come prepared for rain though!
quiet stroll!

Canal towpath runs from Bristol through Bath onto Bathampton. Its a lovely walk with a pub at Bathampton called the George. It will take a day to walk it slowly, but a couple of hours to cycle. All flat. Nice if you've been really busy doing mad stuff.
Parking

Parking in Bath is terrible.
For parking in the centre of Bath.
There is a short stay car park by waitrose supermarket.
And a longer stay one next to the bus/railway stations.
There are a couple more in the area.
For getting around it is best to take the bus.
There are also many tourist buses which take you to see all the sights.
Laid back restaurant and THE kebab shop in Bath
by hanaflower about Marmaris
Everyone who has ever felt peckish after a night out in Bath has ended up here at one time or another. The chefs one the kebab side work flat out providing chips in pitta, hummus and shish kebabs to greedy students.
The same grill provides food for the restaurant side where charming waiters present plates groaning with grilled meat for amazingly bargainous prices. Despite this, I went here with a party of 12 including 2 veggies, and we all had a great time. The 4 course set menu is an absolute bargain (It was £13.50 in 2000), and the food is delicious, not just cheap. If you have one or two courses only, then it's cheaper still.
