by mrandmrsdevlin We had this hotel booked for us at the tourism agency just by the train station, and we had no idea what to expect especially considering we were booking at 4 pm the same day! We were very pleased when we arrived!! The rooms were good size, especially compared with those in London! And everything was clean and well-kept. We had a private bathroom which had been newly rennovated, a tv, and coffee and tea. The hotel provided a FULL English breakfast in the morning as well, which was very nice.
The location of this hotel is perfect!!! Pulteney Street seemed to be the place to be for nice restaurants and pubs as well as shopping, and the hotel is just beyond that in a little bit of a quieter area. Even though we didn't even get to the hotel until nearly 5 pm, we were able to shower and get ready, go out to dinner, go to a pub, go to a club, and walk back to the hotel. The location itself was worth double what we paid to stay there! Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: From the bus/train station: Walk up Mayners Street, pass the Abbey. Keep to the right and over Pulteney Bridge, continue past the restaurants and shops. Pass the Fountain and the hotel will be on the right.
