Myself and 2 friends stayed in a family room at Travelodge Bath this week.
This is a cheap, clean and comfortable hotel. It cost just £65 for the room - you get what you pay for - we did have to make up the 3rd bed ourselves and request more towels and pillows as they were only supplied for 2 people, but this is standard at Travelodges.
The location is fantastic - right in the centre of Bath. It is noisy - we were there on a Saturday night. However we weren't overly bothered (but then we didn't get in until 2am!)
My main complaint is that the reception is not adequately staffed on a Saturday afternoon when there are lots of people checking in. Luckily we arrived a little early and avoided the queue. However they ask that you leave your room key when you go out but it is extremely frustrating when you return from an afternoon shopping and there is a long queue of people waiting to pick up their keys or check in as they only have 1 or 2 very harassed staff on the front desk! To avoid this, if you need to come back to the hotel around checkin time I recommend taking your key with you!
We had breakfast across the road in the Slug and Lettuce which I would recommend - expensive but tasty cooked breakfasts. Scrambled egg on toast is good! (However the croissants are well overpriced - £4 for two small crunchy croissants - and unsatisfactory).
Overall I recommend the Travelodge if looking for a good value and comfortable place to sleep. Fantastic location. We will be back again.

We stayed at the Bath Central Travelodge for one night in March. We payed £26 for the room (saver rate) booked via the Travelodge website - on the plus side, this is an excellent rate and the location of the Travelodge is excellent being right in the city centre.... however you get what you pay for. The room was ok, although looked tired and in need of a refurb. There was an old used towel on the floor of our our room when we arrived, but other than that the room was clean. Other small gripes include noisey room and no bath mat or hairdryer in room .... to sum up basic accommodation fine for a 1 night stay, but if you want better quality look elsewhere.
Great location, very average hotel

We stayed in this hotel for a 3 day weekend in August and paid the full 75 pound rate (expected on a bank holiday weekend in summer !). The locationw as awesome - we could walk to all the major attractions and the shopping street was just around the corner, as well as several nearby restaurants (forget trying to get breakfast before 9am though !). However, the hotel facilities were very basic - we got one small bar of soap and no other toiletries, no bath mat or hand towels and no hotel guide to advise on any other faciltiesm nearby attractions etc. The hotel was very noisy but it was the other patrons and the fact that our room by right next to the lift that made it so. One of the rooms we had booked also had a large hole in the wall and no attempt had been made to repair it. I phoned the hotel twice before our visit to confirm details (we had 4 adults and 2 children and needed to work out the best room configuration) - one person I spoke to was extremely rude and unhelpful and the other was extremely helpful. The staff upon check-in were very helpful and polite.
Cheap and Clean

The location of the Travelodge is fantastic! We had a family room which are exceptionally large (3 adults) and clean and very comfortable. 5 minute walk from most of the attractions, shops and cafes. It was £45 each for two nights accommodation over a weekend which I think is extremely good value! Will definitely stay again!
Good, Clean hotel - great location.

We stayed for 1 night in September 2006 to visit Bath. The room was clean and typical Travelodge. The room was a surprise because first impressions of the hotel are that it is small, old and in need of refurbishment. The location of the hotel is as in its name in the central of Bath so it is ideal to explore the town. Parking is a problem and we had to off load our luggage in the hotel and park in a long term car park approximately 3/4 mile away. The hotel does say on its website that they do not provide parking, so we were not upset in having to do this.
Our one gripe with the hotel is that they advertise a cheap continental breakfast, in my opinion I would not bother. They gave us warm milk with the cereals and an empty coffee cup!! The manager explained that they only provide the coffee cup for you to make the coffee in your room and take it away with you, very strange, any way he did give a 50% refund on the breakfast.
All in all we had a pleasant weekend. We only paid £26 a night for the room as we booked it through their web site using a special saver deal. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Great Standard of Accomodation

We drove into Bath with no accomodaion and a 12 month old baby. The travelodge was conveniently located, with excellent sized room and facilities, very clean and best of all, great value for money. Cot was brought to room before we got our bags to the room and more towells and tea/coffee supplied. No parking, however, short walk to pay as you go car park, which is reasonable value.
noisey and shaby

okay, the good points: it couldnt be more central to bath if it tried. once you park and walk (about 5 mins away) you wont need the car again to get into town. The staff are plesant and helpful if a little sparse. Its cheap. Now for the bad points: i had heard about the noise but it really was bad, not so much the drunk idiots after pub close but the bin men in the morning emptying wheelie bins full of bottles. Not the fault of the hotel but still very annoying. The building is a converted georgian hotel and so has a very different feel to the usual motorway travelodge we usually use, now while i would NEVER advocate the removal of original period sash windows, somthing has to be done to help with external noise. Also the whole place is a bit run down and tired, fraying curtain ends, blown light bulbs, dirty loo pan, shower not working properly, tv not working properly, all smallish problems but when put together you feel a bit let down. i would think that mid week for just one night this hotel would suit but dont go there for a relaxing holiday because you will be disapointed. Its a shame because i have always rated traveloges quite well in the past.
Think twice then book somewhere else!

Beware-Travelodge have a 'no frills' approach to save them-and supposedly us-money. Their research shows that all people want is a clean comfortable place to get a good night's sleep with good quality essentials such as a comfortable bed and a decent quality shower. All very admirable, don't you think? To begin with if you do manage to find the car park behind the hotel (no signs) remember to move your car after 4 hours and find another car park or expect a fine, then don't attempt to book in a minute before 3pm. Take your own toiletries, plug for the sink, biscuits and towels (1 bath sheet per person). Check all facilties as you enter-room not prepared, bathroom light flashed on & off, tv & internet didn't work. Be prepared to service your room-they forgot twice-and wait ages in reception-can't call from room. Try not to scald yourself in the shower-use of water in other rooms seemed to affect the temperature! £70 per night for this-a joke. Still want to book? Want peace & quiet but not bothered about a view? Ask for room 1-shabby, but it has a bed.
Exactly what you would expect

Just stayed overnight at the Bath Central and it is exactly what you pay for. My room overlooked the carpark and was fine - quite large infact - shower did run a bit hot and cold if I had to be picky.
No probs booking in - staff on reception very helpful and booked taxis etc.
There are only 'packed' breakfasts that you have to order the night before as there is no canteen. £4 was a bit steep for what you get - a croissant and jam if I remember rightly...only one place open locally at 8.30ish.
Anyway, no real complaints about the hotel - it does what it says on the tin. Oh, and the bed was really comfy!
