Cottages: By The Byre Cottages
I booked two of these cottages for our family to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. They were very well presented, with a fitted kitchen that had everything you could need. They had thought of everything, you can use their large garden and bbq's and there was a room with lots of childrens toys and a great many dvd's. best of all, after a long drive, you are welcomed by the owners and you have a supply of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter and eggs in the cottage. They are only about 6 miles from Longleat and not far from Bath. Also in the village were local pubs doing good meals. Our ages ranged from 70 down to 6 and everyone had a splendid time.
They sleep four in comfort and have a wonderful friendly dog called Jasper who played with the children and was the star of the stay.
Looking out of the back bedroom window there was a field of cows.

Babington House: Luxury & trendy
Babington House is a wonderful place to stay for a couple of days. It's a luxury hotel in a refurbished manor house in the midst of the countryside close to Bath. The rooms are fabulous (although the attic rooms are a bit small), some even have hot tubs/jacuzzis on the terraces. The food is wonderful too, all very modern.
There is a small lake in the grounds and you can have afternoon tea and drinks on the lawn or laze about in a hammock strung from the trees.
There is also a beautiful, small church in the grounds (where many a celebrity has been married), the Cowshed Spa offers massages & treatments, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, sauna and steam room.
