Glorious Weston
"Also known as Weston-Super-Mud"
Love it or hate, you can't ignore it! Weston is very a 'in yer face' sort of place, full of life and colour.
A long promenade runs along the side of the beach, where the sea is very tidal. You may have to walk for ten minutes before you even reach the edge of the water.
The beach is very nice, with soft, clean sand. Donkeys ply the sands, and you can find ice cream salesmen, Punch and Judy, beach goods and all sorts of other fun items so absolutely necessary to an enjoyable beachside holiday.
The pier is great. Entry is free, there is a little train that runs the length of the pier for those walk-weary holiday makers, and at the end you can while away many a pleasant hour on the penny slot machines.
Update - the pier at Weston burnt down after a devestating fire and is now in the process of being rebuilt
There is no shortage of eating places in Weston, with the traditional fish and chips restaurants lining the main drag.
I love Weston and will often take a trip down there on a sunny day - fortunately it is less than half an hour away.
