But if you're in the area to visit more famous places such as the Derbyshire Dales or the Yorkshire coast it could be worth your while stopping off here. If you're a horse racing fan this is your ideal place - Doncaster's excellent race course is home to the oldest British classic - the St Leger in September. And theres interesting places nearby if you like castles and stately homes.
