Mossborough Hall is a nice retreat just outside the City Centre, ideal for a quiet weekend but not recommended for a City Centre break or those not traveling by car. What it is ideal for however, is a gateway to the Peak District and Derbyshire with all the amenities of Sheffield 10 minuted drive away. Giving you the best of both worlds in our opinion.
Rooms are modern and spacious, offering nice views over the gardens or toward the Derbyshire hills. The hotel itself has a well stocked bar with a tempting Restraunt. It is integrated into the old hall with large communal areas and comfortable seating areas to unwind.
The hotel is located in the village of Mossborough, part of a new town which has little to offer apart from a couple of pubs and the nearby Crystal Peaks shopping centre (don't bother, Meadowhall all the way!) which is good for the tram into Sheffield City Centre instead of the infamous 1 way system and Ring Road.
Unique Quality: Country feel with easy access to the City Centre by car, friendly and helpful staff in cosy surroundings.
I stayed 3 nights in March, 2010. The room standard was excellent, very nice bed, fast internet access (wifi), clean and proper. The hotel was very quite. Staff was very helpful.
The breakfast was just below average. The cooked meals were OK, but the buffet was really a minimum. I did not try their dinner restaurant.
