This was our hotel of choice before the leopold hotel opened, it is modern and close to the city centre, about a 10 minute walk (uphill unfortunatley) through the less appealing end of Sheffield. The rooms are modern and simple, with a TV and bathroom, the views up the Don Valley are impressive albeit an industrial urban landscape. A great vantage point for NYE fireworks as we discovered.
There is a pay on exit car park adjoining the hotel, which is handy and discounted with your stay. And the restraunt is very simple, similar to that in an Ibis or Travelodge. This hotel is popular with those who come for sports competitons at one of the many venues within the city so be warned there could be a large group on your floor.
Unique Quality: Cheap accomodation close to the city centre, nice rooms with close parking.
Directions: Just off the A57 North from Park Square Roundabout
Unique Quality: Visit the bar P!casso inside the hotel. The restaurant's namesake, Pablo Picasso, visited the city in 1950 when he addressed a peace conference, had his hair cut and ate a meal in a local café where he drew a dove of peace on a napkin.
P!casso offers speciality grills on a painter's palette and a wide range of pizza and pasta in an informal atmosphere, with the emphasis on good food and good value.
